Re: Innova Evo vs. Orijen???

My dogs are currently doing very well on Orijen (I alternate the fish and chicken formulas) after trying several other brands. No experience with EVO. As others have said, sometimes it's hit or miss.

Re: Doc's at the vet

Damn, Doc. He doesn't screw around, does he? Glad you were able to catch this early. I hope he's back to his normal self (minus the ingesting of footwear) very soon!

Re: My Ali (8yr old lab) has knots, possibly lymphoma. Help

I think maybe you mean "lipoma"? Lipomas are fatty lumps, and labs seem prone to them. My 13 year old chocolate lab has had a couple of them for years, and since our vet determined they were benign we never had them removed. My yellow lab (passed away a few years ago at 13) had a bunch of ...

Re: skin cancer?

Your pup looks pretty young - his nose could change a bit as he gets older. But it might not. Many dogs retain that "butterfly" pattern into adulthood, and it's completely normal. Since he has so much white around his muzzle anyway, I think it would be a good idea to continue using sunbloc...

Re: Urinary Incontinence

I've had great success using Proin for my mix girl. Several years ago she started leaking urine in her sleep, on the couch and in my bed. After ruling out other possible problems my vet prescribed the Proin, and Mocha hasn't had a single accident since. As mentioned, Proin is cheap. Mocha did have s...

Re: how often do you bath your dogs?

I bathe my dogs every few months. They go longer in between baths in the cooler months; slightly more often in summer since they spend more time outside and there's greater opportunity for getting dirty/smelly.

Re: Weight loss on Prednisone?

Riley lost weight on pred, you could really see it around her hip bones. As soon as I stopped giving it to her the weight came right back.

Re: Anyone Try Orijen

Two of my dogs, both with sensitive skin issues, are doing well on Orijen for now. My sharpei mix was a complete wreck on various food brands until I got her on the Orijen chicken and almost overnight her skin cleared up. I'm not sure if it will last forever, but we'll stick with what works while it...

Is it safe to use a product like Sentinel AND Frontline for ticks at the same time? Or do you think that would be too big a chemical dose each month?

Re: K9 Advantix or Frontline Plus?

We live in a wooded area and never had problems with ticks with Frontline Plus. I use Sentinel now for two of the dogs mostly b/c it's just so convenient, but still use Frontline Plus on Riley due to her flea bite allergy. I tried Advantage and Advantix, but all of my dogs had negative reactions to ...
