Re: Dino the blue-nosed puppy!

Yes, folks, Dino is getting returned to YCSPCA after 2.5 years. His owner's daughter and grandbaby had to move home and (according to the owner) Dino is not adjusting to the change. His owner feels too overwhelmed with everything going on and would like to find him a better home. He is neutered and ...

Rufus the Dufus Mutt, Northern California

In March, I pulled Rufus was pulled from the Merced shelter where he'd been for over 2 months. He survived that long because the staff really liked him. He was labeled a pit bull by the shelter, but I was a little dismayed when I picked him up to find out the only identifiable breed in him is shar p...

Re: Billie, blue brindle in Sacramento CA

My upstairs neighbors & their chickens are driving me batty, so I'm looking for a new place when my lease is up 12/31/09 and it's going to be hard enough to move with one pit bull, let alone two. So, let's get Billie into her new home by the end of the year!!!! :pray http://i128.photobucket.com/...

I ended up having to hold dogs for most of the day because the parade dogs were gone for so long and they were short-staffed.

BTW, her mass was a histiocytoma, which would have gone away on its own, but oh well.

NOAH seeks safe harbor! (NPB in Northern CA)

I found Noah on a weekend when it was cold & rainy, which may explain his name. http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p181/jltomich/noah4.jpg Not having embraced my neighborhood's philosophy of "let it loose & it will find its way home," (but having to have practiced it 3 times in the...

Bump with new pics! Billie's lost almost all of the dead hair in her coat & looks really good now that her pyoderma has healed. lol Her final weight topped out at 55lbs, but she could still put on some more muscle. http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p181/jltomich/billie10.jpg http://i128.photobu...

Why are you all on the east coast? I have a JRT/corgi stray that no one claimed, about 12-18mos old, 20lbs. The only iffy thing is that he's been fine with my 2 cats (who are used to dogs) but stayed briefly with a friend who has many cats that don't like dogs and it got ugly. He's thinks he's hot p...

Well, Billie failed her CGC, but it was strictly lack of obedience training/proofing on my part. So, back to the drawing board...

She did excellent at Picnic Day on Saturday and got quite a few fans. She had a small mass removed on Friday and we're awaiting the biopsy results.

Staph pyoderma secondary to rough play

OK, this may end up being a training AND medical. Billie is a blue brindle and got the stereotypical crappy skin. Unfortunately, I can't always buy them premium food and my source for food donations gives me the best she can, but sometimes it's Innova and sometimes it's Iams. She is on fish oil supp...
