Hi and welcome! First, here's a tool to help you decide what is a better food: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/ If you have any question as to whether the good foods are available in your area, try a web search for the brand. For example, if you wanted to feed Canidae, a quick search would turn up ht...

Puritan's Pride - 5 for 2 sale

Not spamming. :) http://www.puritan.com/ Just thought I'd let everyone know about this sale. 5 for the price of 2. If you get any kinds of human meds for your dog, you might want to take advantage. I've been wanting to start Loki on glucosamine for a while now, and I ordered from them because the pr...

Good posts, those last few. Reddog, read the links and the info, and quit doing just what people are telling you to do. :) One so-called expert told my mom to take Jedi off of Canidae and put him on Pedigree. Thankfully, she trusts my judgement and talked to me before doing anything. The poor old wh...

We go through somewhere between 1 and 2 bags of Canidae a month. DVP for training treats and the occasional extras, I figure $50-70/month, though it may be more.

I totally forgot about the green beef tripe. We picked up a few cans of that today to add to dinner. My kitchen smelled lovely after whipping that one up. But still predominantly kibble. :)

I feed kibble. The extras that I add to it are just that: extras. Oil once in a while, water and vitamins after workouts. But the bulk of their diet is just kibble. I occasionally add in some raw, but that's when I'm trying to get somebody in shape. Normal, off-season feeding is kibble.

It probably depends on the dog, the litter and the owner, too. I've seen dogs totally lose their figure and have saggy boobs the rest of their lives, and I've seen others who still look good after multiple litters, just that their nipples are a bit more prominent. I think there are things you can do...

To the OP, just a few suggestions, if I may. Firstly, this forum is for introductions. You're probably not going to get approved to post in the rest of the forum if you don't put one up. Check out the stickies at the top of the forum for examples. Also, you should know that we're not allowed to post...

Yeah, maybe she's just starting to slow down a bit. Loki ate 2 healthy cups a day from puppyhood until she was over a year old, and then she started to gain weight and get chubby. I had to skim some off the top to get her back to a normal weight. Now mind you, she never stopped eating with gusto, bu...
