Would you be willing to microchip them yourself? Cuz you can buy the chip and needle and do it. It's easy, just a biigg needle. Let me know and I'll give you the site. Not confident enough for that. Loki cried when she got chipped, and I'd be scared of jabbing a needle into what I've heard is a fai...

Haven't checked Petsmart. I didn't even know they offered chips.

No, unfortunately they don't. I emailed them, but haven't heard back yet.

Forget it; I pay enough fees. For $50 (average price here) for a microchip, and $25 or whatever it is to register, they really have no business asking for more, IMO. I'll just keep hunting for an AVID chipper.

Any real difference between AVID and HomeAgain?

Okay, I'm still not having any luck finding somewhere to get AVID chips for the two puppies. I haven't called the animal shelter yet, admittedly, but its on my to-do list. That said, there is a local clinic giving HomeAgain chips for $20, which is dirt cheap here. Its on special, so if I'm going to ...

Yeah, I'm not cool with inserting the chip myself. I'm just starting to get comfortable with doing my own vaccinations. Loki cried when she got chipped, and I consider the process major enough that I don't want to mess it up.

Forgot to add, the place that quoted me $80 said that they'd also need to do a vet exam, which was an additional $52.

I found one place doing the HA chips for $20, which is the best price I've seen. Most were $40-50. But I still would really prefer AVID, so maybe I'll ask around a bit more. Its probably too late to call the shelter, but I'll get on that tomorrow or something.

Nobody does AVID chips anymore?

I've called about a dozen vets in my area, and they all do HomeAgain chips. I really wanted to get the pups chipped with AVID chips, since that's what all the other critters in the house are done with. I tried going on AVID's website to see if they had a locator, but no luck. Any advice? Also, $80 f...

High-quality kibble. I do add things once in a while, more as a treat than anything else.

My answer is a No: Other. I don't feed raw because I don't have the room to store the ingredients with only one fridge and no deep freeze. I dump bags of kibble in a big tote and I'm done with it. LOL

Neuter the boy and get him neuticles. No one will be the wiser. Spay the female. Spay/neuter the pups before you place them. And always remember that technology and science move on, and what our parents knew is not always what is right.

Sorry, forgot to mention they all get Canidae all-stages, and their feed is split into two meals, morning and evening.

About 1.5-2 cups for Loki, who is fairly sedate. 3.5-4 cups for the two puppies who are being chubbed up a bit.

From what I've heard, the most practical application is for nursing mothers, or dogs who are somehow deficient in their diet. Honestly, the only person I heard raving about it was obviously a rank amateur. Genetics, sensible exercise and a good diet should be all a dog needs to build muscle.
