My dogs have always carried in a bit of a wet dog odor when they come in from outdoors. Its generally temporary, and goes away after 5-10 minutes inside. But I can vouch for the diet affecting how a dog smells. Our dogs have become less smelly over the years as we've become more educated dog owners,...

I have a regular chain link kennel with a top. Its nice because you can buy 6'x6' panels at Home Depot and then just fasten them all together with the clamps. Its attached to our patio with long rods that the husband drilled into the concrete. And a lock for the gate. Of course, we never use it for ...

I leave a collar on Loki for ID purposes mainly. I only put a harness on her if we're going to the park or out for a walk. That way, I can have her pull and get some exercise. If I need her to behave, I use our new prong collar. (Used to use a choke, then tried just a regular collar, and now have de...

A good age to start breeding? When you're old enough to do it correctly. When you're old enough to title your dogs in conformation and working events, as well as providing health testing to weed out genetic diseases. When you're old enough (or I guess young enough) to understand the impact what you'...

If you're talking about dog treadmills, they're expensive. They seem to start at around $1000. I would think that someone who has skill with a welder could build one, though.

*Sigh.* That's what I thought. I checked the IWPA site, and it basically confirms my thought that the level of weight pull activity around here is next to nothing. Puh.

Looking for weight pull clubs

Does anybody know where there might be weight pull activity in the MO/IL area? I'm in St. Louis, and haven't been able to find anybody.

D, Diamond is an alright food. We put our Dogo on their "second-stage" formula when he hit 1 year old, and he did just fine on it. Personally, I feed Solid Gold. Its tough to find, expensive, and you have to add vitamins, but the payoff is well worth the effort. Loki is glossy and fit and has tiny p...

Kasco? Do you mean Costco? I wouldn't feed anything that you can get at one of those bargain warehouse stores. Go to your local pet superstore and ask to see their premium foods. That will give you an idea about what better foods are out there. (There are foods even better than those for the truly d...

I'm near IL. I wish I could find those SOBs that did that to that poor dog, but I can't be going to jail right now. :po:
