Dry Skin Problem

Buster has recently (I don't know if it has to do with the weather or if he has allergies) had what almost looks like dandruff. Dry flaky skin. I've been using the Missing Link powder in his food, which has helped a little. He's on TOTW wild fowl variety and I was trying to figure out which shampoo ...

Thanks for the recommendation. I signed up last night - the paperwork is on its way! My vet recommended it as well, along with the SPCA, but I couldn't find information on their website so iI went with VPI.

Pet Insurance Question

I tried using the search tool since I remember seeing a thread about pet insurance companies, but was not successful. Buster was recently playing with my friend's puppy and stepped on her leg and broke it (oh my big oaf!). I'm helping my friend out with the pet bill...and hopefully the puppy won't n...

Yeah, I just looked up the ingredient differences...it looks like they're almost different types of diets all together. I guess I'll have to make sure I stock up on the roasted water fowl when I see it in store!

Food Variety Question

Buster's on the roasted water fowl Taste of the Wild. I was wondering if you have to follow the "switching food" steps if you're switching between the same brand, but different variety. I ask becasue I've noticed the store I buy TotW from seems to run out of the roasted water fowl but not ...

I switched Buster over about a month ago - he's on the roasted water fowl one and his poop does seem to be less stinky and not as bulky. :yucky: lol It seems to be really good food - all I know is when I get home from my morning run at 5:30 a.m. and Buster hears me get his bowl, he wakes his lazy bu...

Buster grew out of the digging thing....luckily! We still let him dig when we go to the lake or the beach, though. :)

I switched Buster to Taste of the Wild recently - oddly enough they sell it at Tractor Supply. I don't know if you have one near you, but their prices are decent. They also sell the Diamond Natural food (same brand as TOW I think?).

Buster has a Granite Gear Ruff Rider http://www.rei.com/product/700069 A little on the expensive side, but it's pretty high quality. We use it on hikes to have him carry his own water (and sometimes my jacket if I get lazy haha) but he doesn't fight it and it seems to give him a purpose/a job. :thum...

Thanks for all the replies, everyone. I understand why he failed - he shouldn't have growled at all. I totally agree and I appreciate all the advice, Red, that I should understand the reasoning behind why he's growling. The confusing part to me is that he allows the ear checking and the mouth checki...

Buster failed the test. :( I was pretty upset and I've put off retesting him. I want to do more obedience classes and then get him tested again. He has one issue and that's that he doesn't react well when the tester comes up and grabs his paws. He's fine with the checkin gof the ears, the gums and t...
