I have heard that Benadryl will have an opposite effect on dogs and actually make them more hyper.

It has never made my dogs drowsy. Talk to your vet about giving Melatonin...it's widely used to calm dogs with separation anxiety.

There were no breed bans on any of the bases on Okinawa (Marine, Air Force, Army or Navy) and there aren't any restrictions at Scott AFB in Illinois. I heard breed bans were becoming more common on bases though, but haven't seen it first hand.

And welcome to PBF.

Just thought I'd update...I'll be taking Lexus to the vet next week to have them look at it. It bleeds almost everytime she has to go out in the snow to potty, and it appears to be getting bigger. I think it's a cyst. She has definitely been licking the paw more, so I think it's bothering her.

Any ideas on what this may be?

We just came in from a romp in the snow, and Lexus' foot was bleeding all over the place. I look at it, and behind one of her toes on the inside of her foot is a bump, almost looks like an unpopped blister, and that was the source of her bleeding. I cleaned it up with antibacterial soap and hydrogen...

My dogs chew on bones frequently, they get Apple Cider Vinegar in their food almost daily which keeps their mouth pretty clean, and I brush their teeth once or twice a month.

I fed the Wetlands formula for a while and all three of my dogs did great on it (the only food that all three have done well on)...cost was a big factor so I had to switch to Diamond Naturals Extreme Athlete but Lexus isn't doing well on it, so we're going back to TOTW after this bag.

I got my male Duke neutered at 1 year. I think it's better to fix males before they start having issues like marking, humping, etc. because they will be less likely to start those behaviors if they are already neutered.

What do you do when she pees in the house? Keep her leashed to you...when you see her squat, interrupt her with a loud no, pick her up, and take her outside to finish. Stay with her outside until she goes (this takes a lot of patience...do not let her in until she pees). Praise like crazy when she f...

I wouldn't worry too much unless she starts to become skinny. She may just be on the smaller end of the breed standard.

My dogs just get a capsule a day. They eat them like treats. I just bought a big bottle from Wal-Mart.

We always just used the canned stuff, much less messy and it doesn't go bad.

The brand name was Tripett.

I was living in Japan when they had it so the vet treatment is a little different there. They got oral doses of Ivermectin twice a day. Shelby showed sensitivity to it though, so we stopped it. Usually the smaller spots will clear up on their own as the pup's immune system matures. Your pup will pro...
