The staining of the nails is porphyrin, a pigment found in saliva. Its a sign that your pup may be licking her feet when you aren't looking. She may have a low grade bacterial or yeast infection. You could try soaking her feet in a 1:1 mixture of apple cider vinegar and water 2-3 times per week and...

I'm talking about the coloration of them. It appears they are bleeding or have bled inside of the nail. I have had a couple people tell me it's normal, but I wanted to make sure.

Thank for the input.

Nails

Why do my dogs nails look like this? They have pretty much always been like this and they don't seem to bother him. Should I be worried, or is this the norm? http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f305/pjrocco/Dogs/IMG_2528.jpg http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f305/pjrocco/Dogs/IMG_2532.jpg

My male is afraid of plastic bags, but only if they are on your hand(s). You can give him a plastic bag and he'll be fine but as soon as you put it on your hand, he starts freaking out barking and carrying on. My female is afraid of loud voices. (we think she was abused at her previous home) Both th...

To train or not to train?

I have two great dogs that are very obedient and are pretty much perfect dogs went it comes to listening. They know all the basic commands and some specialty commands and follow through with them almost 100% of the time. I have spent a lot of time personally training them and I practice NILIF religi...

UTI?

I have a vet appointment for him on Thursday but I wanted to get your thoughts. Within the last three or four days my 10 month old male had had 3 or 4 accidents. They are no full bladder accidents but he walks and dribbles a little. He hasn't had an accident since he was 6.5 months so I'm guessing s...

You have to go directly through the company to get a new one. Good luck though, I have sent countless e-mails with no replies.

Both my dogs did great on TW when they were on it. Due to their constant rise in prices we switched to Canidae. My dogs did horrible on it so I switched them to Nature's Variety and they are both doing great.

Canidae is a good food at a good price, but some dogs have trouble with the sunflower oil.

Nope, my dogs are in their crates from 8am till 4pm M-F and at least a couple hours on Saturday or Sunday, sometimes both days. I know some people here are power craters and use it for training purposes, but I can't see keeping my dogs locked up for 16-18 hours a day. I'm glad your baby is doing bet...

My male can jump over my parents 4 foot chain link fence with little to no effort. I have a 7 foot privacy fence and he probably could jump it if he really tired. Red has the best idea IMO. It is cheap and wouldn't take that long to accomplish.

Good luck!

Two questions

My 10 month old pup is healthy and happy, per the vet. Although I have some concerns. First, I believe he is in his tall and lanky stage which is fine, but lately he has gotten very thin. I keep all my dogs very trim but he is getting too skinny IMO. He is not actually losing weight, but I can see e...

Don't give up hope... It took me months to find the right food for my allergic boy. I went through Timberwolf, Canidae and two or three different formulas of Nature's Variety before I got it right.

Shaking/Trembling

My female started this about a month or so ago. It is totally random, but she seems to do it more first thing in the morning. Her body will tremble for about a second or two and then stop. It is a full body tremble just like when they are cold. We asked the vet about it and he didn't seem too concer...
