Hips question

So I have had my little 8 month old male into the vet a couple times and to a different vet once for his hips. We originally took him in because his back legs shake when he is standing still and he runs very odd, it almost like he is prancing or bunny hopping and not putting much weight on his back ...

Plain American cheese works the best for me... If you have a pup that inhales his/her food (fast eater) you can hide the pill in the middle of their kibble.

He is on 20mg of Prednisone and 1000mp of Cephalexin a day. He also got a Cortisone shot for his hips. His drinking has not changed at all, but his peeing is up 1000% which is odd to me. i doubt the food is making him pee more.. if he gets this while on canidae the raw paws, get him off it and put h...

Can't hold bladder... Meds, new food or both?

So my 7 month old pup went in last Thursday to get his raw paws looked at. It happened to be an allergic reaction to something and the vet was pretty sure it was the switch in food from Timberwolf to Canidae over a month ago. Although I didn't notice it the wife said his redness in his paws and bell...

We just got back from the vet and the doc seems to think it is an allergic reaction to the his food. We changed it over a month ago, but she says it takes some time to work in their system. We went from Timberwolf to Canidae, so the vet thinks it's rice or the sunflower oil. Since Timberwolf raised ...

Raw Paws

My puppy has had this since we first got him. Within the last month it has gotten worse. The vet looked at it about 3 months ago and he wasn't to concerned. I have an appointment later today, but I figured I'd get some opinions from you guys. I don't think it is a food reaction since he has been on ...

The old timers always say... "When puppies get the hiccups, that means they are growing."

haha, I'm pretty sure that is not accurate, but then again, I've never had an adult dog with hiccups.

I don't have an answer for you, but my vet is 35 minutes away. They are so good over there it is worth the drive. We have some local vets if there is an emergency.

I know the drive sucks, but IMO, it's worth it if you have someone/some place that you like and/or does a good job.

Food switch (Time frame)

I am in the process of switching my pups over to a different kibble. We have been on a half and half switch for the last week. They are both doing well on it, poops are very firm, no bumps/rashes/skin problems, no vomiting or anything. Should I do another week of 75% new and 25% old, or do you think...

I feed TW to my two dogs and have with previous dogs as well. I switch between Elk and Bison. Both my dogs do great on it with no gas at all. The only thing I don't like is my male poops 4 - 6 times a day. On the other hand my female only goes 2 times a day (after eating), maybe 3 on occasion. Food ...

Just got back from a second vet and he does not have hip dysplasia!!!!! He does however have some flat spots around his hip joints. This will cause an issue later on in life, but not till he is an old man. YAY!!
