Roscoe has a broken canine

I just discovered that Roscoe has a broken canine, it is chipped at the end. It is also a bit discolored. There isn't much choice but to pull it, is there?

Re: This is starting to look less like spondylosis

I hope you get some help at the specialist. The way her legs collapse is similar to my late boxer's did when she had arthritis in her spine.

Check the equipment section for toy recommendations. Most of us have toy destroying dogs!

The comments below the dogfoodadvisor entry don't sound too great though, I don't know if I would try it.

Is it too late to amputate the limb? I guess you can discuss that with the oncologist. I'm awfully sorry you and your dog are going through this.

Hard to tell when they are so young. The boxer part doesn't look unreasonable. They are very cute, whatever they are. :inlove:

Hmm, how about giardiasis? Austin had pretty awful diarrhea when he had it, I don't remember any blood though.

I would just get him to the vet pronto. This doesn't sound like something we should be doing armchair diagnosing on.

Did they test for parvovirus? What about rodent poison, is there any way he could have gotten into any? I would get him to the vet right away, emergency vet if you have one where you live.

Re: Winter/Cold Weather Shampoo Recommendations?

X2, we don't give ours baths in the winter unless for some odd reason they really need one. Besides what you're already doing, I think an occasional brush with the zoom groom helps. I think that Earthbath shampoo is great, that's what we use, and I think the salmon oil helps a lot too.

Re: ears and rears

What are you feeding him now? Sometimes just feeding a better quality food helps a lot. My dog Susie used to have ear infections when I fed her Iams, before I heard about better quality dog foods. I started feeding her better food and she hasn't had much of a problem since. (Yes I kicked myself afte...

Re: Destroying toys

I know the feeling! lol chuckit balls are great for fetching but I don't let Roscoe have them in the house, although they do hold up really well to his chomping. There are hard plastic balls, one called the unbreakable ball with holes in it that seems quite good, and one solid hard plastic ball, I t...
