In July my pup split one of his nails to the quick. Unfortunately, because he was walking on it I ended up having to have the toenail amputated (it grew back). I think the dew claw might be alright as long as it doesn't snag on anything.

This is just like Sabot! He seems to know when anything has even the tiniest trace of alcohol in it and he'll beg you for it.

Okay, a big fat DUH for me! :headbang: I didn't even consider baby food applesauce. I usually get him the meat flavors. Thanks for pointing that out! His first b-day is coming up, so I'll be testing it out pretty soon.

just wondering why you want to sub the applesauce though? I don't really eat applesauce and although my husband claims to "love" it, he never eats it when we have it. And I know Sabot likes baby food, he gets it frozen in his kong sometimes. I just don't want the applesauce sitting in my ...

Do you think the cake would come out okay if I replaced the applesauce with baby food?

I own a couple of very verbal dogs... seems like almost everything they do makes them groan, moan, growl, squeal, scream. I wouldn't worry about it unless it's accompanied with stuff the other folks mentioned! LOL That sound a lot like Sabot actually. Thanks for the replies, everyone! I just wanted...

Growling at Odd Times

Can a growl be anything other than a threat or warning? My 10 month old pup has been growling at odd times, but not in a threatening way. The time he does it most often is when he's stretching. He'll lower himself into a play bow-like stance and stretch his front feet out, while he does this he usua...

One thing I noticed when we gave our dog an egg a day was the awful gas it gave him. It was awful and smelled like sulfur (for obvious reasons). It was mostly eliminated when we gave them every other day.

I'm sooo jealous of everyone that has extra freezers! I want one desperately, but we don't really have room for it in our tiny crappy basing housing "apartment".

Sabot is more or less naturally well-behaved. He doesn't really tear things up or act like a fool too much, but he does have his moments.

I def think you should wait until he's older to get something like that. He would grow out of it so quickly it would be a waste of money.

When I was visiting my mom a few weeks ago Sabot split one of his back toenails down to the quick. I took him to my mom's vet and she suggested having the toenail amputated, which I ended up doing. They sedated him and basically just cut it really short past the split and gave me some antibiotics an...

After a month and a half of not hearing anything from HomeAgain about Sabot's chip enrollment I finally called today. As it turns out, they are not sending out notices that your dog's microchip has been enrolled. I guess you just have to call to find out for yourself from now on.

Wow. Thanks for all the info, Holligan! I didn't noticed the spot on his nail until yesterday during his bath. Before and after his bath he'd been running around like a mad man, so I guess it is possible it's not a yeast infection. Would it be okay if I watched it for a few days to see if it gets wo...
