I wouldn't put it past the ivermectin to cause stomach upset--- almost any drug can do that. Hopefully he feels better once he's off it. Good luck getting control of that Demodex! It can be nasty stuff! My dog had a spot of localized Demodex, and I was soooo worried it would go general. Thank goodne...

yep- absolutely wash that bedding! The frontline alone would get rid of fleas eventually, but getting the eggs out of bedding and carpet speeds up the process a lot. Good luck with your fleas! If you're impatient, ask them to pop your pup a Capstar. Those things kill every flea on a dog in under 4 h...

Frontline and advantage are not the same active ingredient, but they are both safe around cats (Frontline is fipronil, advantage is imidacloprid). The big things to watch for are those pyrethrins. Cats are super sensitive. They are found in Advantix (as previously mentioned-- thanks), as well as in ...

Yeah... ouch! As much as I see of wounds and nastiness, it's always the eyes and butts that never fail to make me squirm... It would be good to have it looked at, for sure. It would have to be a pretty long stick to have made it all the way to the abdomen, but a wound in the side of the rectum could...

Well, if you guys have any specific questions, I can pull out my toxicilogy book and look things up for you... But to answer some things: Raw eggs are bad for dogs in the same way they're bad for people: salmonella. Dogs are more resistant to it than people because they build up their immune system ...

Welcome! It's wonderful to hear about such a success story! So many owners that I'll be talking to as a vet will need stories like this to give them hope... I hope to prevent a lot of euthanasia by helping owners feel like they have a chance in dealing with issues like house soiling and separation a...

Just checking back to see if I was approved for posting yet! Hey Adoptanapbt, can you let me know approximately where you live so I can tell if renting your rooms is a possibility? It would need to be within commutable distance of Rancho Cordova area. Having a chance at a place to live so soon after...

New face! Vet student from Kansas State
Hi! I'm a veterinary student at Kansas State University, graduating this May. Ziggy is my 2-year-old male neutered APBT (?). He was my junior surgery dog, found as a stray on the streets of Lawrence, Kansas. After I neutered him for class I fell in love with his dashing looks and winning personality...
