Re: IMHA

Bootleg made it through her first round of chemo with no adverse reactions. She came home and ate some chicken wings and ran around like a banshee with her wubba. Now she's curled up on the air mattress in a warm blanket. This little girl sure is a fighter. ♥

Re: IMHA

She's doing great Patty! All the supplies for the chemo will be in on Thursday and then we'll go from there. They have decided to do a CHOP protocol. I've done some research but I'll learn more about that on Thursday.

Re: IMHA

I know that we don't have very much time left together, but I swear, this girl doesn't know she's sick. She apparently feels so much better without the spleen that it's like she has a new lease on life. I've caught her on the dining room table, twice. The last time to steal a toy that sueb sent me f...

Re: IMHA

Bootleg's pathology results came back and she has lymphosarcoma. At least now we know why she has IMHA.

The vet's office wants to do chemotherapy and are working on protocols for the treatment. They say it can give me 6-8 more months with her, assuming she tolerates the chemo well.

Ugh. :crybaby:

Re: IMHA

Bootleg is home and resting comfortably. It's easier to be a pit ball without that big old belly.

Re: IMHA

Here's a more coherent update. I visited her this morning. Spleen weighed 6 pounds. He said it did some weird thing he had never seen - it was coiled around itself like a snake. Did the initial incision and then had to increase it just to get it out. He said it was at least 4 feet long, maybe longer...

Re: IMHA

He just texted me. Said that other than the fact that it was the largest spleen he's ever seen her insides look good overall. No obvious cancer anywhere. I think I get to pick her up tomorrow. I hadn't thought much past today. Thank you everyone, for your well wishes and your love. I appreciate it m...

Re: IMHA

They are attempting to remove the spleen tonight. My vet works crazy hours. He did Beo's knee surgery at midnight. He is supposed to call me with news, good or bad. I'm *trying* not to jump to any conclusions until I have definite answers. Not my strong suit.

Re: Good Lord, anything else at this time?

Poor little itchy-headed girl! Bootleg came flying out of her crate when she heard the bunny squeak.

Get better soon Zoey!

Re: IMHA

Since Bootleg came from a guy who abandoned her at my vet's office after he found out her uterus had ruptured, there were a lot of things that I didn't know about her. I have spent a lot of time there during this illness and have found out some things about her life before me. Such as that when she ...

Re: IMHA

The news is not good. She lost 2 more pounds. Hematocrit went down from 26% to 20%. Spleen has not shrunk. We're having the spleen removed next Wednesday and the chances are very, very great that it is cancerous. Which means that it is throughout her bloodstream. Plus she has Rocky Mountain Spotted ...

Paypal doesn't charge any use fees if you mark it as a "gift."
