Re: Please say a little prayer for her...

Damn, Patty! I just now saw this. Glad your girl is okay and I hope she continues to improve. What a scary situation!

Re: Top 5 Foods

I also didn't read the whole thread, but does anyone know anything about Bil-Jac? I saw on their website that they are calling it a "super premium" food, but it also says corn is better for dogs than rice. My boss feeds it to her Westie and she's convinced that it is a wonder food because ...

Re: Bootleg

It was a nice thought!

I got her on the scale with me and she weighs 60 pounds. I'm thinking she needs to weigh somewhere around 50 based on her height.

Re: Bootleg

She needs no biscuits!!! She really loves her crate, just goes in there to chill out with the door open. And she really loves the air conditioning. I am fostering her because the vet's office is building an indoor/outdoor kennel/dog run (like the dog pound, kind of) and they are prepared to keep her...

Bootleg

Hi! My name is Bootleg. I am an overweight, 3-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix. My owner brought me into the vet's office after I had been in labor for 3 days. Something had gone badly wrong and even though my vet did all he could, he could not save my puppies. Or my uterus. When my owner foun...

Re: Costs of raw feeding

I am so jealous of you people in big cities. We have almost no suppliers here. Especially not of anything cool. :)

Re: Purdue Vaccine Study

It's too bad a lot of people will extrapolate "don't vaccinate at all" from "don't over-vaccinate." I just read the book Panic Virus about how the theory that vaccines cause autism was spread around and now kids are getting sick and/or dying of diseases that were rarely seen any...

Re: Purdue Vaccine Study

A friend just had a renter leave two standard poodle/mastiff mixes when he left the house. 4 months old and he did the "do-it-yourself" vaccination from the tractor supply, which gave them live virus. They both got parvo. One died this morning. Apparently, according to my vet, this is very...

Re: Purdue Vaccine Study

The article is saying that if vaccines are given after 6 months they last for the life of the animal. The first little one page thing claims that, but the actual scientific article it claims as evidence has nothing about how long vaccines last or what vaccine schedules should be. Anyone can write a...

Re: Purdue Vaccine Study

All the vets here I have spoken with also recommend yearlies. When I told them I'm going to go with the three-year protocol, they were shocked and amazed. But . . . but . . . what if they get distemper? Since they've gotten yearlies for 4 and 8 years, respectively, I am quite certain every 3 years w...

Shes 21 lbs and eats 327 grams, and is VERY slim lol Oh and that costs (at wholesale) $60, Gamble is 35 lbs and he eats meat/bone/organ alpaca, llama and duck a...

Re: Costs of raw feeding

I haven't had a lot of luck with a green tripe supplier. I can't get it here. Where do you get yours? I would like to add it back in.

Also, what kind of liver? Beef? Chicken?

Re: Costs of raw feeding

Their skin was horrible. All 3 got demodectic mange, which the vet says is especially unusual for two almost-8-year-olds and a 5-year-old. Poops were runny and even stinkier than normal poop. I know that dogs are carnivores and prey model is supposed to be the best ever, it just didn't work for us....
