Re: Costs of raw feeding

Their skin was horrible. All 3 got demodectic mange, which the vet says is especially unusual for two almost-8-year-olds and a 5-year-old. Poops were runny and even stinkier than normal poop. I know that dogs are carnivores and prey model is supposed to be the best ever, it just didn't work for us....

Re: Costs of raw feeding

I actually tried prey model and it didn't work for my dogs so I went back to BARF, which includes the fruits and veggies. They eat around a pound a day. It probably costs me about $100 a month for 3 dogs. Just wondering what didn't work? (Not being critical, but curious as to what physical things w...

each, right?

Yes. Pandora probably eats a little less because she's smaller. About 45 pounds.

Re: So...I'm freaking out....again

I think it scared him as much as it scared me. He didn't try to do anything wild for a while. I had to keep him away from Pandora, of course. No roughhousing. Also, he is a #@%* fencerunner. So I just kept him on a leash for at least 6 weeks. I've always been super-paranoid as far as the dogs are co...

Re: So...I'm freaking out....again

I'm hoping the treatment plan does the trick! Beo had a partial tear when he was younger (5 years ago, at 3) and we did adequan shots, restricted movement for a month, I got him to lose about 5 pounds by switching to raw, and he took cosequin DS (still does). The trial period for cosequin was 6 week...

Re: ? bad knee

Martin did that too. Throw in the fact that he had actually blown BOTH knees, so would switch sides on his intermittant limping, and you have 6 months to a concrete diagnosis. Pandora did exactly the same thing! I even took her to a chiropractor because the vet didn't really believe me that somethi...

Re: Roscoe's limping is worse!

As soon as Pandora's first knee healed, the second one was ready for surgery.

Good luck with whatever you decide.
