Re: Excessive panting

my bully hates having his coat wet anyways, i always let him splay out on a cool surface like a tile floor or a wet floor. he is a little fat but i cant deny my boy a raw chicken wing or a cheese burger from wendys every now and then. being fat isnt only bad for overheating, it is also hard on the ...

Re: Excessive panting

yes. i had this problem today and since water(dunking in cool water) itself wasnt enough to cool him down, i had to hold ice cubes in his mouth between his lips and gums to get hit blood to cool a little while i had him splayed on a wet cool surface. today was the worst that ive ever seen it. sure f...

Re: Excessive panting

It sounds like a combination of 2 things. Panting is often a sign of stress, especially if the tongue is curled upwards at the end, rather than flattened out. Noisy panting (and breathing), as well as a tendency to choke and cough when eating or drinking can be indicative of an elongated soft palat...

Excessive panting

It dosnt matter if its freezing or hot, my bully starts panting as soon as we leave the house. It sounds crazy (literally) too, like a fat guy with a stuffy nose trying to breathe after a marathon. It dosnt effect his mood at all, actually makes him more acceptable of other dogs. He dosnt shiver lik...

Re: Treat em' right rescue in houston

I was just informing the local Houston forum posters of a rescue that is constantly asking for free help (vols) and donations; that also has a history of not manning up to their responsibilities. Like rescuing and boarding dogs they can not afford, or neglecting medical bills resulting in maulings f...

Re: Treat em' right rescue in houston

So post count is credibility. What a joke. Just ban me. After all this is the forum that claims "american bullys" are not pitbulls and judges people on training techniques whether they work or not. Tried to bring some real local information to this community and get treated like im selling...

Re: Treat em' right rescue in houston

The boarding facility held about 40 dogs, 30 of these were TERR's. 5 employees. so you math is about correct. btw i think my internet raving about the situation worked as TERR did pick up accept their dogs today. They did turn around and post that someone had dropped some dogs on them (they were the...

Re: Treat em' right rescue in houston

Well, they now are in possession of almost all of their dogs. TERR is claiming that dogs were just dumped on them. This is not true. These were dogs in their program that they were going to neglect, and only took back when threatened with legal action. At least dr cooper is a redeeming herself kinda.

Re: Treat em' right rescue in houston

Re: Treat em' right rescue in houston

Im hoping some of you volunteers ask why those dogs are there and get them to come pick the dogs up. Maybe TERR can redeem themselves by at least taking care of the dogs they promised to. As for the girl that was attacked, i would seek consul. The 5 or 6 employees losing their jobs because of the no...
