Re: Treat em' right rescue in houston

Theres about 10 pitbulls about to be homeless thanks to TERR. Some are even on their webpage. Besos, bones, Isabelle, Snow, Tallullah, Tinkerbell are just a few that are still at the "shelter where they dogs are losing weight." I saw the dogs as recently as last week and they are doing gre...

Treat em' right rescue in houston

Do not support this non profit group. Another rescue was boarding dogs for them (another non-profit) for a minimal fee (less than 10 dollars a day per dog) and they neglected payment for almost the entire time. This caused 7 people to lose jobs, and they took back only the dogs they wanted to take c...

Re: Lets talk poop.

Wait for the poop to bake in the sun and dry out and then pick it up. In the summer i dont even pick up the poop. I just mow over it once every 10 days (only if we get rains tho). In the winter, i pick it up every few days cause it dosnt decompose at all.

Re: Breaking up a fight with 2 or 3 dogs

Never thought about the waist. If they are really engaged it keeps you away from the working e3nd until one is secure. Good idea, thanks. Again dogs in shelters and rescues seem to get in lot of fights, why? Even with our kennels reinforced with slip ties some of them find a way to pry themselves ou...

Re: How does your dog feel about thunderstorms?

I've seen a thing that you plug into the wall, releases some sort of hormone or something that calms the dogs. I think if your dog is this much of a pansy, build it a dog house and leave it in the backyard for week. If you want something that actually works, try benedryl. nothing like sleeping throu...

Re: Breaking up a fight with 2 or 3 dogs

oh and for you misunderstanding turds, the slapping the ear does not kill a drive or stop the fight. its just a way ive managed to make the dog "re-grip" so i could pull him off without ripping the other dog up.

Re: Breaking up a fight with 2 or 3 dogs

Ive broken up alot of dog fights, with dogs that keep coming back. You ever try holding back 2 full grown male pits by yourself? You cant. Ive punched, kicked, gouged, choked, poked, screamed, used a hose, used a breaking stick and many more "methods" of getting 2 or more dogs to let go. ...

Re: Things to avoid feeding your dog!

Eggs are fine for dogs and they love them. You can also feed chicken and poultry bones to dogs as long as they are RAW, and have no problems. Fish bones I'm not sure about.

Re: Breaking up a fight with 2 or 3 dogs

breaking sticks are a good way to get bit, thats all. They should only be used on pitbulls (purebreed) and by the dogs handler. Thats the truth. The best way to prevent dog fights while on a walk is with pepper spray or an air horn. Hispanic neighborhoods are notoroius for loose dogs, as it is cultu...

Re: Breaking up a fight with 2 or 3 dogs

For experienced people with no fear of a couple of dogs trying to kill each other then sure. I will never walk (or run) up to a couple dogs fighting with a stick in my hand (unless its my dog!). How is "cup your hand a slap the ear pushing air into it" safer though? No offense, but when p...

Re: Breaking up a fight with 2 or 3 dogs

2. I dont like breaking sticks because most people just beat the crap out of the dogs with them and do more damage than some small puncture wounds. When one dog is "locked on" or has a hold of the other, a good way just to make him release for a moment is to cup your hand a slap the ear p...
