I only use PB as the "glue" in a Kong, using fruits and veggies as the main stuffing. I used to use low-fat cream cheese, but that can pack on the calories as well. I now use non-fat yogurt and unsweetened pumpkin. Toss in the freezer overnight and I get a good half hour of positive distr...

Found it! Quote: Here is a way to find out how good the dog food is you are feeding your dogs. How to grade your dog's food: Start with a grade of 100: 1) For every listing of "by-product" , subtract 10 points 2) For every non-specific animal source ("meat" or "poultry"...

They are both doing well on it, other than their coats getting pretty dull ( which could be because of the season) Add in fish oil. I use Grizzly Salmon Oil and they gleam! Also, there was another thread I saw once where there was a point system for all different foods and foods over a certain numb...

The psycho holistic pet store guy in my area steers everyone away from timberwolf and toward canidae, even tho he sells timberwolf for twice the money. He says he won't even stock wellness anymore because it's so cruddy. I have allergy-prone Horace and Hazel on Canidae lamb and rice and it works gre...

I'm glad Maverick is doing better and hope his poop gets up to par soon

What are the signs of bowel obstruction? This is so scary and my dogs are always getting into stuff that I don't even know about, so what should I watch out for?

honestly, some people feel sorry for dogs without yards, but let me tell you they get a LOT more walks than the average joe shmoe that just lets their dogs out in the yard to 'play' and walks them once a week. I know this is true. My house is surrounded by fenced yards with dogs laying neglected in...

My vet of course knew that "white feet don't treat" came from the collie problems, but she said her gut told her not to use Ivermectin but to go with the Amitraz. And it worked, so, I'm happy. Hazel's mite and mange free!

Hazel came with a pretty bad case of mange. My vet (who's a newly minted DVM from a fancy school) didn't put her on Ivermectin because of the saying "white feet, don't treat", and Hazel had white feet. She had me do the Amitraz dip. It took like 6 or 7 dips. She also had me shave Hazel's h...

I'm glad Tucker's doing better. Drugs are so big, and dogs are so small, and sometimes, pow. I hope the problem doesn't repeat!

Thanks for your kind concern, guys! The pink infant scrunchy would be hilarious, but I tried to put a wide headband on her because I thought she might get a FROSTBITTEN HEAD in this week's 8-degree weather, and she tore it off snarling at it. Evil thing on my head! GRRR! I was going to take a pictur...

I use the basement. There's a floor drain. I use a garden hose with a nozzle attachent hooked up to the basin faucet and I tether a leash to the leg of the washbasin and use the hose nozzle on 'shower'.

Hazel's Head is Shaved.

Because her Demodectic Mange is still hanging around, so the vet told me to shave her head so the medicated shampoo and the mitaban can flush the hair follicles. So it looks like she's wearing a little pinkish-gray yarmulke. :frown:
