Re: Vaccination help, should I get it?.

And you can usually quarantine your pet rather than have to submit their head for testing. Granted it means the bitten person might have to get shots and all ... which is why strays and wildlife are usually tested by default. But MANY states are fine with holding the animal and seeing if they develo...

Re: Vaccination help, should I get it?.

Only one person has ever survived rabies, and that person is a vegetable, even low risk is not a risk I would take. Actually not quite accurate. Only 5 people have survived rabies that are known of (prior to the three most recent cases in 2004 and 2008) - and they received treatment. Of those that ...

Re: Bee Sting

Yes but the same can be said for crossing streets. You never know when the next car might come so you always take a look around. It's of course common sense to watch for swelling in case it changes, but it's nice to know he's not allergic out the gate. I personally just have no fear of bees in gener...

Re: Vaccination help, should I get it?.

I thought that most of the labs were discouraging decapitation more and more because of the risk of aerosolization during the process, and that they were now moving to having the intact body being sent in for the labs to do the removal for testing rather than having the doctors do it and sending in ...

Re: Bee Sting

Aww! I remember Toby's first sting ... we were walking to the car and there was this bee on the sidewalk on it's back just loaded with pollen and Toby spots it, and before I even could blink he's of course inspecting it and immediately the first thing he decides to do it press his nose into it (it's...

Re: Bumps....ingrown hair? Pimples??

Actually never mind ... even though you have them where you live, I'd bet you would not mix that up with an ingrown hair or pimple! lol

Re: Bumps....ingrown hair? Pimples??

They have cuterebra where you live?

Do any of the bumps have like a small hole (it's how they breathe).

If so, it might be those.

Re: Vaccination help, should I get it?.

I have the vet run a titer - even though that's not always accurate, it's better than just guessing, for the ones that you can run a titer for. Most of the best vets out there feel strongly about not OVER vaccinating I think. But then I sort of get an interesting viewpoint on the interesting cross s...

Re: Royal Canin food

Toby has only been on Purina Pro Sensitive Stomach Salmon flavor food since being weaned. He's never blown his coat, it's always gorgeous, doesn't poop an awful lot, isn't gassy, stool is firm, doesn't get hives, and he looks GORGEOUS on it. His breeder has tried every method of feeding and told me ...

I'm glad she is okay!

BTW ... you spent your money responsibly IMO! Your parents just aren't seeing the lesson that being responsible for another living creature sometimes mean we choose them over ourselves, that's all.

Dogs can get tetanus too, after all.
