Re: Pit bull only likes men?

Sometimes dogs just like one gender over the other. Some fluctuate - they will like men better for a while then switch to women for a while and then switch back. Some don't seem to care either way. Toby overall prefers women and children - likely because higher voices tend to get him excited...

Re: Hatred for squirrels?!

That would be an interesting study I wonder if they were bred for small furry animal aggression. well, ah ... ALL terriers have that, it's a large part of what terriers were bred and designed for - rodent control. Squirrels ARE rodents, thus why all terriers have an inbred and generic yen for hunti...

Re: Happy tail anyone??

Just make sure it's not too tight so that circulation isn't cut off. And vet wrap sticks to itself, not to hair.

But again, you want snug, NOT tight.

Re: Happy tail anyone??

Again, splint the tail to the hind leg until it heals. Just take a roll of bandage and wrap the tail alongside one of the hind legs so that it's just along the thigh. That way they can sit easily, go to the bathroom normally, and even wag the hind end normally, but the tail is controlled and immobil...

Re: Happy tail anyone??

You also can splint the tail down to one of the dog's hind legs ... that way it simply can't wag until it heals.

Re: Vaccine results in lathargic and vomiting/concerned.

Please, Please vaccinate your puppies. This could have all been avoided with a $15 shot from the feed store and he would be healthy right now. I'm still angry with the past owners for neglecting him as a pup and never taking him anywhere. I feel compelled to address this .... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE d...

Re: Turning into a food snob...

Ahhhh ok, yeah see I have only ever used the salmon sensitive stomach flavor ever. It is literally the ONLY food Toby has ever had since he was weaned, as that's the food he got as a puppy (the puppy level of course). I've never even once given him anything else, and when I buy canned food, I buy th...

Re: Turning into a food snob...

They have new formulas out with moist chunks... its essentially dough shaped to look like meat with glycerin as a preservative and to retain moisture... While dogs do think food tastes better with moisture... I do not want to feed my dogs glycerin dough because it looks cool! If I want them to feel...

Re: Turning into a food snob...

I will also keep the salmon Pro Plan in mind... I'm a huge believer in pro plan, but nothing gets me fired up more than gimmicks. They are rarely better for the pet and either cost more money or reduce the quality of the other ingredients to make up for it. Just curious ... what gimmick? I've gone ...

Re: Vaccination help, should I get it?.

I think ... and I'm NO medical professional mind you ... that it has something to due with the medically induced coma. Quite frankly - it's better to avoid getting rabies or your pets getting rabies whenever possible, IMO. LOL Waaay less expensive and painless! hehe. I just found it kinda cool, but ...

Re: Vaccination help, should I get it?.

Actually the three I mentioned by name had the same treatment she did, so the count is at three if you consider that none of them had vaccines as treatment. But if you want to split hairs, technically all three had medical treatment , just not the typical rabies treatment. Jeanna Giese is doing extr...

Re: Turning into a food snob...

Try Pro-Plan Salmon for Sensitive Stomachs. That food does amazingly well - every dog I see on it is amazing. And I mean - a top ten APBT kind of amazing dog, lol. Low stool, no gas, gorgeous coat. if you are already open to feeding Pro-Plan and haven't tried it - it can't hurt to try it and see how...

Re: Medieval Dog Crates

GORGEOUS work!!!

That only thing that bugged me even a little were the spikes ... I just keep having visions of a dog somehow getting stuck on one of those somehow and I can't seem to shake it, even though the spikes are pretty too! I'm just a weirdo I guess lol.

You do exquisite work though!

Re: Vaccination help, should I get it?.

And you can usually quarantine your pet rather than have to submit their head for testing. Granted it means the bitten person might have to get shots and all ... which is why strays and wildlife are usually tested by default. But MANY states are fine with holding the animal and seeing if they develo...
