Re: My boy diagnosed with Lymphoma

I have no experience with lymphoma so I can't speak to that, but I would say at the very least get him in to the vet for some IV fluids. It will make him a little more comfortable. Dehydration is terrible.

So sorry you are going through this with your boy. My heart goes out to you.

Re: Is this normal?

My dog sits like that a lot, I don't think she likes putting her parts on the ground. roflmao

Your pup is adorable, by the way. What a mix!

Re: Tucker doesn't like kibble ...

My mom's dog can be picky that way sometimes, but she'll eat whatever kibble I offer her (they're on TOTW) if I put some warm water on it and let it sit for a minute or two. Mmm, gravy!

Re: Brina's Paws

Poor Brina baby =(

Are you able to email your vet and show him the photos without having to take Brina in? Maybe just to get his opinion?

I'd suggest baby socks or boots in the meantime, if she will leave them alone.

Re: How poisonous are onions????

From the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center: "Onions, Garlic, Chives An occasional low dose, such as what might be found in pet foods or treats , likely will not cause a problem, " WTF, why would they put something that is a known toxin into their food or treats?? Good question. I often c...

Re: How poisonous are onions????

From the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center: "Onions, Garlic, Chives These vegetables and herbs can cause gastrointestinal irritation and could lead to red blood cell damage. Although cats are more susceptible, dogs are also at risk if a large enough amount is consumed. Toxicity is normally dia...

Re: Supplement

If you are giving fish oil it is also important to give vit E along with it, as long term fish oil can deplete vit E in the body. You can just give a vit E supplement or add a little wheat germ oil. Re: what to do for dry skin other than fish oil?

never thought of using coconut oil, i give sunflower oil and olive oil for the girls and once in awhile a little bit of fishoil, but next day loose poop and upset tummies. I don't think you can/should just randomly introduce things. I think 'systems' need to get accustomed to changes and new chemis...

Re: How long on Puppy food?

I switched Moira off puppy food at around 12 months, we went to a high quality all-life-stages food at that time.

Whatever you decide, transition slowly to the new food. A little canned pumpkin mixed in can't hurt, either.

Re: what to do for dry skin other than fish oil?

Coconut oil is about half lauric acid, which is a medium-chain fatty acid. It is considered a "good" fat - as long as it is raw and not hydrogenated.

Re: what to do for dry skin other than fish oil?

Moira has issues with fish, so I use hemp oil for her along with coconut oil. I order the Nutiva brand (USDA certified organic) of both through Amazon - you can usually find them in two-pack deals with free "Super Saver" shipping - that's two bottles of each for around the $25 mark. Quite ...
