Re: Cesar Millan

Some of the things ceasar does I don't dislike but some methods he does leaves a bad taste in my mouth and I would never want such a ''trainer'' even looking at my dogs. That jack russell kicker is just a animal abuser horrible, people are just mean and some are too dumb to notice that wha...

Re: fixating on joggers ?!?

I realize your situation is 'above' mine in excitement, but with Capone, he shows interest in people passing us, but not to that level. I can tell though that he makes people a little unsettled, why not, he's at their hand/arm level and his hazel eyes are like little darts that can be watched by th...

Re: Sit means Sit?

Some wench in Central FL was advertising on FB. She starts pups on e-collars at 8 wks. She also breeds Labs & GSDs, and sends home collars with them. :yucky: damn serious? 8 weeks? those video's red posted were really hard to watch and made me want to put those collars on the ''trainers''...

Re: How to Break a chewing dog?

If your dog has separation anxiety it can explain why the dog destroys things in your home, I also agree to look around this forum with the stickies  I know it sounds easy, and its not easy at all, I know that since i've been busy with some problem with my dog (crating, and then whining it...

Re: How to Break a chewing dog?

Thanks guys, we've started teaching him to walk on a leash which seems to be helping a lot. I just can't believe that our other dog lays there and lets him chew on her neck. Patience will pay off in the end on this one, along with a bunch of exercise. I would still suggest not leaving both dogs alo...

Re: sudden food sensitivity?

My vet also recommended a new brand of food, but it still contained grain and other things I thought would not help her, so I went for a home made food, I feel if you think this food the vet wants to give isn't going to help her then I would go with what you think will work....good luck this is a v...

Re: sudden food sensitivity?

My dog (german shepard) suffers from colitis, she also had loose poop, blood etc. It only got worse and worse with feeding kibble ( I tried many brand including 3 different types from the vet's office) she's now on a home made fish diet with some rice (every other day)...If you can't feed home made ...

Re: At my wits end!!

I totally feel you. My current foster came as an adult and had the same issue: no qualms about going in the kennel and outside was too exciting for boring old potty time (here's a version of our experience http://littleayse.blogspot.com/2011/05/embarrassing-confession.html ). Sounds like you've got...

Re: AT LONG LAST! JESSUP SPILLS ALL ABOUT THE "OUT"!

the method described works very well both of them, what also worked with my dogs is giving them a ball while on a lead then get some treats like peanut butter, meat etc. really high value treats and show the dog while he has something like a ball in his mouth when he drops it, you say ''out'' then r...

Re: Biting kids when they're being picked up (for a friend)

X2 on the being lazy part, training the dog is the way to go. This dog is a herding breed and of course he wants the kids to ''stay'' together, the dog does not really bite but he's ''nipping'' like border collies etc. do while herding cattle. It can be trained, but it takes time and someone who's w...
