My dog has had nasty nasty diarrhea for 3 days now. We take her outside many many times during the day in which she will only do #1. Then she waits until we have been asleep for about 2 hours then bombs away. We fed her a can of wet dog food a couple days ago but I didn't think it would upset her t...

I didn't realize that you only had him for a few days. What was he eating prior to you adopting him and what are you feeding now? Also are you keeping him active and tiring him out? This may help boost his appitite as well if he has not been very active. I would however recommend getting him to a ve...

Pblove that is horrible! I don't think I would have handled that any differently either. The carpet would be ripped up immediately :yucky: I remember when my AB brought in a dead squirrel once and it took us about 15 minutes to realize that it was not a rope from outside  Thankfully he was stil...

Thanks. This is the one of the reasons I don't like to crate a dog(although it is MUCH better than in the house). I feel so bad when they are sick and I see that sad look on their face like they think they did something terribly wrong. All the food was fresh that they had yesterday (nothing out of t...

Mother of god..... what did she get into

I am a HEAVY sleeper... this morning was no exception. I vaguely remember hearing my dog whinning and crying in my dream-like world. Seven am rolls around and I finally start hearing the alarm that has been going off since 6am..... sh*t I am late.... again. I sit up and immediately something strong ...

The first thing that I would not do (me personally with my dogs) is I would NEVER allow ANYONE to correct my dog(s). This can be prevented and very simply actually. Do not allow your dog to be loose or visit the neighbors unless you are with her. Even if this means that you have to be outside with h...

How long has he been refusing to eat? And have you been catering to him every time he refuses to eat the dry food? He won't starve himself, just quit worrying about it. If this is the food that you feel comfortable feeding him then feed it. If he doesn't eat it within so long pick it up and wait unt...

Glad your pup is doing better! You might cook up some rice and chicken, that's a good bland diet that will help her. And if you can find a better food for her than Puppy Chow, that would help, too. You can moisten the dry kibble with some warm water, that will make it easier for her to eat, just le...

I just wrote this in another forum about food allergies: Nutro is better than the normal junk advertised but in my opinion it is lower quality than Natural Balance. The con about Natural Balance is the Omega 3:6 ratio is off so you have to suppliment aditional Omega 3's. I also recommend contacting ...

When I train a new dog or a puppy I train them to follow me, which also helps to create a tight bond between me and the dog/pup. A good way to do this is to either keep the pup/dog on a lead or just ask her/him to follow you. But don't leave the puppy/new dog in a room unsupervised until you have co...

Try and get some sugar in her to boost her up a little. Plain vanilla icecream, karo syrup, maple syrup. If she won't lick it up rub some syrup inside her lips. Also be careful not to make her aspirate while force feeding liquids. A good way to make sure you don't is to make ice cubes out of pedialy...

It is normal from what I have seen and heard. Just make sure to keep an eye on her. If she seems to really be struggling or whining follow your instincts on that, as you know her best. But panting is normal.

Re: 7 WEEK OLD PUP DEHYDRATED NOT EATING.

this is my pup and im trying to find out what could be wrong short of having to pay 5-600 in vet bills , not all of us have money just to walk into a vet office and say here you go. Acutally a checkup by a vet is generally about $35 dollars. After that they tell you what is wrong and then tell you ...

Another thing to start getting some drive showing in him and to boost his confidence is to start teasing the dog with food. If the dog's only food drive is inside then I would actually NOT feed him inside but rather outside. And you feed him by hand, while he is following you around for the food. Af...
