I think I might have figured out what the issue is. It's not so much the leash as where we're walking. She's used to grass but where i live I have dirt in my yard (the previous people killed all the grass) and cement out front, she doesn't like it. When I took her to the park last night she did good...

I love the show! I love how he works with dogs that've been deem'd "untrainable" by others and how he works with people who need help with their dogs, no matter how small or big the problem. I think it's great that he's out there helping people learn to be more responcible pet owners and, ...

One thing I noticed that might be wrong with what you're trying is you said you want the dog park to be a form of excersize. I've watched a LOT of dog whisperer and the first thing he always says is excersize should always come first, even before a dog park, before doggie play dates, ect. If you exp...

I'll try that (food) she LOVES cheese and will do just about anything for it (we've already got her to SIT and are working on DOWN) I suggested it to DH before but he thinks then she'll expect it everytime, which I dont mind as long as she's walking!

I've tried that as well (just having her wear it around the house) she's ok with that, she'll try and chew at it for a bit then just totally ignore it, it's when I'm trying to walk her on it that she just spazzes out!

She does NOT like the leash!

I've had Scarlett for almost a week now (tomorrow will be a week since she came home with us!) well we figured she wasn't used to wearing a collar/leash, she's done fine with the collar (although the first day or two she scratched at it like it was the devil, lol) but she HATES being on a leash! I ...

I think it all depends on your dogs. If you see that they're handling things fine being treated as equals then, by all means, keep it that way (long as they know that YOU are the head honcho) but if you see them getting snippy with one another over certain things then it might be best to create an o...
