Re: Vets...or anyone: about raw and sanitation

Just ask the doc before surgery. I cannot imagine it poses anymore of a risk than you preparing raw chicken for dinner on the counter or general "doggie germs" from traipsing in and out. And then there are the nasty "people germs." Probably keeping some hand sanitizer by his bed ...

Need foster home! Sacramento

We've lost a couple of foster homes recently, and we need to pick up some new ones, so I'm scouting for volunteers. In particular, we have a 10-12 week old Pit Bull or Pit Bull mix puppy that needs a home or a foster. http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o66/chakodogs/tanwhitepup.jpg If interested ema...

Re: Ice on the surgery table

Yes, that would be weird... but I like how they've covered her up with a fuzzy, pink blanket!

Urgent help needed in Austin, TX

An emaciated Pit Bull found its way to a woman's back yard. She has contacted local rescues but, as we all know, most are filled to capacity, if not beyond, and she's thus far not gotten a response. If anyone is in the Austin area who can help, please email me and I'll give you the woman's informati...

Re: Hi! I might not belong here, but you tell me!

Well, the ash markings are very shepherd-like, but I do see some Pit Bull! Who knows, maybe he's got more than two breeds in his heritage :)

Re: Denver BSL laws?

No, you cannot move to Denver with a Pit Bull. The ban is still in effect. Aurora also has a ban on Pit Bulls, as do a couple of other surrounding areas, I believe.

Re: A Rescued Pitbull now calls me Home :O)

Well, true about the BSL issue -- but on the other side, the dog was going to be dead, anyway. Even if, ultimately, he gets confiscated and killed, at least he had some time in a loving home first. I recommend exercising caution (with any dog) until you truly know his temperament (can take several m...

To fully heal, about 2 weeks, but be most careful during the first week. You can ask your vet for sure.

Re: A reminder for summer weather!

We were playing a short game of fetch in the yard preparing for our walk. It is about 75 degrees here. I didn't fill his outside water dish because we weren't playing for that long. After we finished playing and came inside he nearly collapsed. He recovered, but was wobbly. He was staggering around...

Well, Billie failed her CGC, but it was strictly lack of obedience training/proofing on my part. So, back to the drawing board... She did excellent at Picnic Day on Saturday and got quite a few fans. She had a small mass removed on Friday and we're awaiting the biopsy results. Hey we did an event a...

You know, it might just be better to go ahead and amputate it. If it remains this length, and he remains that happy, he's just going to wack it open again. "Happy tail" goes hand in hand with a long tail and a jolly dog. Reducing the length of the tail should reduce his chances of wacking ...

Looking for a female pup....

Well, I have a very nice family who has been into show, working dogs for about 28 years or so. They're old dog just passed away. Anyway, long story short, they are looking for another dog, prefer a young pup, female, and this time they are looking to rescue since they are not really going to be doin...
