Re: kennel flooring -does anyone have this?

Thank you for the link

I have something similar to that in the kennel for my personal dog, Tauri, but it's gotten ripped up by other dogs (and replaced). I don't think it'll last ten minutes in the foster kennel!

Re: secure kennel water bowl thoughts?

I might just start cycling through these suggestions :) A GSD friend also recommended the steel bucket with a heavy duty caribiner and then a bungee around the bucket to hold it to the kennel wall. I might try that, too! :)

Re: New grain-free dog food!

I just bought a bag of the grain free costco food. I switch between Wellness and Natures' Variety, in general, but I also tend to feed the fosters the same food as my dogs, which gets REALLY expensive. This is a decent price, so we'll see! :)

Re: Steps to becomming a "Real" dog trainer?

1) Read a lot of books 2) Train several of your own dogs (preferably to titles) 3) Volunteer to train others dogs for free, and/or work with an established trainer; join a dog training club 4) humbly soaking in all the knowledge and experience you can 5) At some point, call yourself a dog trainer an...

Re: Daisy Mae - Sacramento!

LOL. I agree. She is a cutie! She's actually so far shown herself to be a pretty easy dog. Relatively quiet (the debarking makes her even quieter -- unfortunately). She doesn't seem to chew inappropriately. She takes treats gently. She responds to verbal corrections nicely. She's pretty mellow.... s...

Re: Need advice: I have apparently lost my dog's trust

Good luck - by the way, dogs that are taken from their mother/siblings that young often have issues. 8 weeks is usually a good time for a pup to go to its new home

Daisy Mae - Sacramento!

Daisy Mae is a little Pit Bull with very bulldog features. She's a shortie! Stout and cute, with a short muzzle, beautiful brindle coloring, and the confidence of youth. We pulled her from the Sacramento City Shelter -- where she came in VERY pregnant. The shelter gave her a spay/abort. Her previous...

Re: GRAPES -- how urgent is eating four grapes?

Grapes are one of those things that seem to be toxic to some dogs and not others, and the amount varies per dog. In fact, there was a dog I read about that lived on winery land and the owners always knew when the grapes were ready to harvest because it was ONLY when the grapes were just ready for ha...

Costco 10x10 kennel $399

Today I went to Costco because someone tipped me off that they had 10x10 powder coated kennels (with a shade top -- that will likely not stand up to the first strong wind here in Sacramento, but what the heck). $399. Normally $699 online (see below). So, I picked one up for the rescue. Chako's has b...
