I vote rescue. For one thing you can rescue an adult, and know exactly how big she'll be, plus it's cheaper, and you won't be supporting a BYB.

Never had problems with it myself, Aala will do anything for a finger lick of peanut butter. I'd go with the suggestion of removing the PB and making no other changes for a while, if the problem persists you can rule out pb as the culprit.
Aala used to get carsick when she was younger, and occasionally now when we go for long rides. My vet said I could give her Dramamine an hour before we leave, half a tablet I believe but I'd check with your vet first.
