She keeps on scooting on the ground in a semi-sit to try to get to the treat. She doesn't seem to want to break a sit. There is a reason for that. You have most likely reinforced sit a lot and it is her default behavior when unsure about something new you might want.Sit is safe, it is something she ...

He was a rescue and I was with him every second of every day for the first 6 months of his life, so the job/crate is relatively new

How did you introduce the crate? Did you work on leaving him alone for short period of times or just started with 6 hours all in once?

She will look back at me when I click the clicker but is that really because she associates it already with a treat or just a response to the noise? She got it, 30 repetitions is enough. The dog hears different sounds, even those you can't hear when you train, and if she turns her head fast after a...

I have a fear aggressive male and the muzzle goes on at the vet's if it is the case. The base vet relies on me to decide when, since she trusts me to handle it, and so does another vet on mine. With others I am the one who tells them to give me a sec to put the muzzle on. No point in having the dog ev...

Any feedback would be appreciated: unless it's about the unflattering floral pink pajamas I got nothing then. lol When you see a dog "clueless" about what the goal behavior is you want to reinforce even the tiniest approximation toward the goal behavior. On the first video she was sitting ...

Well, I got call when at work and Snicker did not get spayed.A military working dog died, sadly. so it was an emergency (it is a big deal when it happens) and I was asked to pick up Snickers before she was taken for the surgery.I can't complain since it was really a favor to take this down elsewhere...

Talking to a fearful animal can be beneficial indeed. There is the "oooohhnooo, you poor little thing, poor baby" with worries in the tone of voice and the "it is okey, you are fine" said wit confidence and positive tone.It is not the talking itself (people stop saying that!!) it...
