Re: Pancreatitis

Thanks for asking about Tux. The biopsies were done, and a scope showed abnormal areas . What I am told so far is that it is either an inflammation and some organs are reacting, IBD or cancer, I will be given a definite answer tomorrow. He is also positive for babesia, apparently. Last year, when Ti...

Re: Pancreatitis

Ultrasound detected enlarged lymph nodes in the abdomen. The spec cPL came back normal from Texas, earlier in the afternoon. There could have been an episode of pancreatitis when he was first taken to the vet, but the worry now is pancreatic cancer, lymphoma. We agreed to a needle aspirate of the lym...

Re: Pancreatitis

Thank you. His Dr. just came out to let me know that he has had a catheter in and he is on fluids. Dr. wants a pancreatic biopsy to be taken, if the ultrasound is abnormal, which is risky and i am quite uncomfortable with it. Then again we need to know what is happening.Ultrasound is scheduled for 2...

Well then, those are some serious reasons to put a dog under anesthesia and surgery.

Re: OFFICIAL ear cropping/tail docking debate thread

Let's not bring up situations that don't have anything to do with what we are talking about. My male pit bull when I get one will have cropped ears. The statement above is one thing, cropping or docking for health reason is a very different matter.Docked my piebold male, after trying to save his tai...

Re: OFFICIAL ear cropping/tail docking debate thread

I'll do what I want with my dog and anybody bigoted enough to try to make me feel bad for it can kiss my booty.. I'll pass on that one. Your arguments, if it can even be called that, reflects just about all problems we have with dog ownership, lack of respect for living creatures and plain fl...

Re: Bad tooth, what do you think?

Jack craked a tooth last week, incisor on the top. Clean gum around it, dog chews toys and bones, vet saw no signs of infections and suggested to monitor closely and remove if things change. After I figure out and deal with Tux's latest health problem that tooth is coming out, no point risking an in...

Re: Dog throws up after eating.

Im not going to care her to the vet unless absolutley necessary The dog was vomiting two weeks ago, and got worse lately, according your other thread. You also said she gets like that often, which could mean that there is something chronic going on. I would think it is necessary to see a vet, to ma...

Re: Pancreatitis

Thank you. Tux was able to eat a small meal Friday evening, and keep it down all night. In the morning he woke up demanding food and ate a total of 4 tiny meals of boiled rice, chicken and turkey ground meat, with turkey broth and added electrolytes though the day. Lots of drooling going on Sunday m...

Re: Recall, Kirkland and Taste of the Wild

I went with Horizon for all dogs. They are a Canadian small company with their own production facility, that use human grade food, and I really like the ingredients and analysis of both food. I have only heard good things about them so far.Sneaky and Jack got the Legacy Grain Free Salmon (no potatoes...
