Re: What people pay money for

AC is assigning an investigator to the case, it can be a day to a week before I can speak to the assigned person directly. They have cases of neglect open, and they rank reports based on how urgent the situation is. Someone else contacted them over this, today.

Re: What people pay money for

There is a way to report things, which is to actually do it. Celeste, I sent in video and the info I was able to gather, the morning after I first watch the video, to the local animal control services. I have a case number over what I submitted, so that i can follow up. What is disturbing to me is n...

What people pay money for

These are animal abusers, "trainer" and owners. The amount of corrections these dogs are getting while they are trying to escape fireworks in fear is beyond disgusting. The dogs body language even before the fireworks start speak volume by itself. It is an example of the "trainers"...

Re: Seen on an "About us" page ... please discuss...

I would not know what to think for sure about the part you bolded, without asking for more details. There are businesses that carefully word their training philosophy, trying to conform to a more politically correct approach in order to catch more business. For example, a company in which trainers u...

Beautiful male in need, South CA

The good looking male in the videos below was found hanging out in front of someone's yard, where he stayed for two days.Perhaps he was abandoned in the area and waited for the owner to come back. The lady who took him in has little foster dogs of her own and is unable to keep him permanently. He is b...

Re: "weight pull training" at my local shelter (uh oh)

Hey Mike, nice seeing you around, hope you are doing ok. Not familiar with the Lug Nuts program, but when I see the name Sue Sternberg ...ugh.I like for dogs to be alive after they grab a toy, o show normal terrier behavior, but that is just me. In this particular situation, with shelter dogs and vo...

Re: Sheba got posessed for one day...

Was the separation anxiety "treated" with an electric collar, like other behavioral problems Sheba had/has? The easy fix tools are not only abusive at times, but they actually end up with the motivation for old behaviors "popping up" when there are changes in the environment, eve...

Re: Pancreatitis

Thanks to those who asked about Tux, it is very appreciated. He has been closely monitored since this started, he lost weight as well as muscle mass and won't gain any. He was at 42 lbs three weeks ago and he is on the same weight, despite eating up to 5 times a day.He was 49 lbs before this started...

Re: Recall, Kirkland and Taste of the Wild

Timas Mom, you point is not lost with everyone. :) Wanted to add Dr. Straus's (canine nutritionist) opinion, since there have been a few comments about protein amount in food: "High-Protein Diets Contrary to many myths and popular beliefs, there is no harm in feeding a high-protein diet to dogs...

Re: Veterinary Behavorists, Behavior Consultants etc

Gerry, this thread was made to make people aware of what is available when help is needed and an owner actually seeks help. Many dog owners are unsure of who they should contact in case of significant behavioral problems and because there is a difference in what individuals can offer, depending on t...

Re: Recall, Kirkland and Taste of the Wild

You don't get a great food with any decent quality protein for $30 for 40lbs......thats like 20 cents a lb cost to make ( and thats being really generous!)..what do you really think you are going to get for 20 cents? The packaging costs more than the food!!! Agreed. I am feeding Horizon Legacy and ...
