Re: Recall, Kirkland and Taste of the Wild

Those who don't live in the states affected by the recall BUT order their food online should check their bags and/or tracking info on their orders to see which state their order was shipped from too. Good point for sure. I use Vittles Vault containers so I can't look at bags anymore.Sneaky is on We...

Re: Pancreatitis

Thanks Allison. He is going to get another injection of anti vomiting drug and antibiotics this afternoon, and get more blood for the levels.I won't have the results back til Monday though, since it is not an in house test (only the SNAP CPL is). I was going to wait for those results of that before a...

Re: Pancreatitis

Yes, Allison, the did Serum Chem, CBC, GHP and then a SNAP cPL (abnormal). X rays noted Spondylosis , which I am sure is not helping his abdomen pain.

Pancreatitis

Tux has been diagnosed with it yesterday, after x rays and a couple of tests and two episodes of vomiting with painful crying. He was not dehydrated nor close to the worse case and Dr. Anderson did not see a reason for fluids after the results. He had an anti vomiting drug though IV and an injection...

Re: Buddy Girl needs some good thoughts.

Good Lord, Allison, just done reading the whole thread. I am very sorry this is happening, it is a lot all in once, emotionally and financially. I feel the same about our dogs, when it comes to what they are worth, and Buddy has a good mom. Sending very good thoughts your way.

Re: What it looks like when they remove a nail

He's pretty dinged up and missing some parts already (including some brain cells), so even if it didn't grow back,it'd just be another thing to add to the list! :) There is a list here too but hey, after an extra nipple, a very dangling penis (remember the two lymph nodes taken out instead of his t...

Re: What it looks like when they remove a nail

I have not noticed a single problem with Sneaky's nail being removed, as far as balance, or anything else. She might have less gripping surface when she pulls but we have not competed or worked on WP since her problem, which was a rather uncommon fungal infection. Her nail was completely removed in ...

Re: OFFICIAL ear cropping/tail docking debate thread

It is not a painful procedure at all. It amazes me at the amount of people who seem to think it is brutal thing, that the vet goes in and just hacks their ears off with a dull knife while they scream...it's comical, really. Yes, that is why we have a thread about it, because a cosmetic and painful ...

Re: Please tell me I'm being stupid and paranoid

I don't think you are being paranoid at all.Hopefully it is a minor build up of fluids and blood, maybe due to the recent increase in activity, to monitor for infections. I'd take her in or at least call your vet, perhaps a drain might be needed if the fluid does not get absorbed, if a seroma is wha...

USA made dog treats and chews

It seems that some people are having trouble finding dog treats and chews that are made in USA, and a list of them might be helpful. You might not find many of these in your local store and buying on line is often a good option, especially for the price and free shipping when a certain order amount i...

Re: Another dog death blamed on dog treats...

We could get off our lazy bums and make our own dog treats. That's always an option. lol Anyone with an oven can do it. It'll end up costing less, too. I often make my own treats, using a dehydrator (did I spell that right?) for the meat, or baking. As far as costing less...not always. In order to ...

Re: Another dog death blamed on dog treats...

It is bad enough that stores do not seem to bothered by this and keep those products off their shelves, but the owners that continue to buy them are not any better. These warnings have been more and more frequent for while. Even my dogs' dermatologist sent me an e-mail last year, and to all his clie...
