I'll try that with the boots, I have been massaging down her legs and shoulders to the feet because she doesn't mind that, just pulls her feet away a little. I have also been saying "good feet" and giving treats when she's accepting it. I'm sure we will work through it eventually.

My sentiments exactly, he is so handsome. And really graceful looking, I love his color. Someone will be lucky to get this boy.

Foot touching

I've had Jersey about two months now and got her some booties for the winter, She's terrified of them but hates us touching her feet. So the booties are put away and we are working on getting her comfortable with us touching her wherever. She basically acts like a brat, really scared, running away a...

He is adorable! If I wasn't such a new owner as it is I would take this boy, I just don't think it's fair to add another so soon after the first. I can't believe no one has nabbed him, he looks so calm and sweet!

My dog does this, her previous owners pretty much taught her to sit, shake, lay down, roll over all as one trick, if you have a treat it's really hard to get her to just lay down without automatically rolling which drives me nuts, she really doesn't know the tricks, she just understands that series ...

I moved out of a rathole into a nice big apartment and told the landlord I had a cat because I couldn't think of a way to hide such a noisy critter. We have the 24 hour notice up here so the snake and lizard went in a closet, ferrets (3) went to my mom's or sisters and I just let him notice the fish...

I am interested in feeding evo to my new dog down the line, if I buy it in bulk I can feed it to all my critters but it would be a mix of the red meat and regular. Everything I've read says the label protein level pretty much mean nothing as it's not usable protein.

I have been leashing her for the last couple people, at first we would hold onto her collar and make her sit until she calmed down a little. Treats don't work but I will implement no attention until she is settled, it seems if they've been over before she's not as likely to jump up but totally new f...

Getting a dog to behave around new people

The dog I just got, Jersey, is pretty well behaved around us but goes nuts around people, wants to jump on them, very excited, jumping on furniture, etc. We try to hold her back and make her sit, lay down, whatever but now we end up bringing her into the basement until they leave. She's 2.5 years ol...

Cold weather gear?

I'm picking up my dog today and was wondering what all I should get for clothes for her if anything. It gets really cold up here, -40 occansionally and -10 is going to be normal. I don't want her to freeze her little feet off or anything on walks. We won't be walking on the really cold days but ther...

They should be pooping less because there isn't any fillers to crap out. Just good food that gets used up like it should.

New girl, not an owner yet though

Hi, My name is Tiffany and I don't have a dog yet but have been planning and talking about it for years, just bought my own house so now I can actually do it! Not right this second, too broke and need to build a fence and pay off some bills, lol. Anyways this will be my first dog, my b/f had dogs hi...
