Re: Situation worse because Broncos are losing
OK well dogs don't think like people, putting him in the kennel for punishment isn't accomplishing anything at all. How old is the pit mix, often this becomes an issue at maturity. Pit bulls take very little encouragement to start a scuffle, they think a fight is great fun and the answer to just abo...

Re: LEGO: From prepared to paranoid...
@ going postal: I've done t he research on the dominant theory. There are a lot of people who hate cesar Millan for it. And from the examples that you gave about the wolves and waiting at doors, I assume you are one of them. I think that's okay. Everyone has their own way that works for them. But j...

Re: LEGO: From prepared to paranoid...
If I were you I'd start doing some research into the whole "dominance" theory. It's a load of garbage, there's no need to alpha roll your dogs or always win at tug or always walk through doors first or any of that nonsense. Your dog isn't a wolf and they know you aren't either. Treating ev...

Yes because peanut butter, kibble, treats and canned foods have NEVER been recalled for bacteria.

Re: odd eating behaviors
Feed the dogs in separate areas. Put down the bowl, tell them to eat, if they haven't within a couple minutes pick it up and put it away until next meal time. Repeat until they eat. Alternatively you could get a work to eat toy and feed out of that, give them something to do for awhile, there is no ...

Re: Greetings from hopeful future pit owner! Advice welcome!
I don't like dealing with puppies and didn't want to support a backyard breeder (which covers about 99% of the ones out there) so we have all adult dogs, two from shelters, one was an owner rehome but I have no idea of their breeding or history or all of that stuff. They have their quirks and health...

Re: Stuffed Kong on raw diet?
I don't use the kongs much now that my dogs are raw fed but when needed I stuff with ground meat or poultry hearts. Nothing is easy to clean out of those things so not sure it matters.

Re: CCL repair walking video - Feedback wanted
Quit looking and comparing! Every dog will handle it differently, Jersey was VERY cautious about putting weight on it, she was walking pretty similar to Veronica at this point, got a little better, then she got a seroma and stopped putting weight on it at all for quite a while.

Re: My dog attacked a child...what do I do?
Wow stellar example of why halloween and dogs don't mix well. Have you talked to a lawyer or the parents of the kid? It really depends on your local laws what happens to the dog, I take it animal control or the police haven't stopped by? Does your insurance company cover pit bulls and dog bites?

Re: New dog and obsessive toy behavior
You can buy a lunge whip and use it as a flirt pole or make one yourself, if you search there's a thread on thatno but basically a giant teaser toy like cats use, they chase it around and tire themselves out pretty good. I have a springpole as well that only one of my dogs loves but that is a great ...

Can you potty him in a different area than your dogs? That would probably be the best idea although just picking the poop up right away should be enough I would think.

Re: Dogs killed another animal and I'm getting tired of it a
Well allowing your dogs to fence fight all these years was a bad idea and you are lucky something hasn't happened before, either your dogs aren't that athletic or you have a helluva fence because most pit bull types would have been over it and busy killing the others before too long with that kind o...

Hey a diagnosis! That's a good thing. Doing antibiotics? Nero had to do a long course of them soon after we got him for lymes and anaplasmosis.
