Re: Hello, again...

I'm glad to see you are still around, kind of wondered what happened to you. Nice to see you stepping up and trying to make things right. I have 2 collar and leash sets from you and they have held up well and still get used.

Re: I don't know what to do -- allergies

Coconut oil seems to help my allergy dog quite a bit, switching to raw took care of most of his issues but took several months. His issues do not sound quite as severe as yours though, mostly a lot of itchiness, stinky BO, hair loss, redness/bumps/hives sometimes and goopy eyes but they were getting...

Re: Knee Surgery - Yes or no?

Are you talking about ccl tears or luxating patellas or what? CCL tears do not show on xray and are usually diagnosed via a drawer test.

That sucks! I hope she didn't tear the other one. Jersey is 2 years past her first tear now and so far the other knee hasn't gone but I am always expecting it.

Re: Horrible Vet Experience -_-

I don't have any advice on trainers but for vets you may just have to start contacting the offices around you and see how accepting/workable they are with fearful dogs. Nero tends to be a handful at the vet, mostly just over excitement but he will get snappy if a vet tries to mess with his feet. I t...

Re: Nero had a seizure

For the allergies unfortunately as far as we got with two different vets was a few courses of antibiotics, different medicated shampoos and skin scrapes. June 2010- (local vet) skin scrape/woods lamp, cephalexin, ketachlor shampoo August 2011-(out of town vet) animax, cephalexin, etiderm shampoo Aft...

Re: Nero had a seizure

I wanted to update this as it has been 6 months since Nero has had an episode like this. He has been med free since Jan of this year and raw fed for one year on July 1st. His skin allergies have also almost completely disappeared after 3 years of worsening symptoms, he has no hair loss, no eye goobe...

Re: Awkward topic ... dog erections

poor button lol, he's got no idea what's going on. I only have one male and afaik he's never had that problem but he did the same age as Button suddenly discover humping which seemed odd, although now that I think about it he was on meds for his seizures at the same time and has been off them for se...

omg, I have caught bits and pieces on facebook but didn't know what actually happened, that is awful, sending good vibes to Oscar and hoping the antibiotics work fast.

It's heavily pushed at the one local vet, no waivers either, the other vet doesn't even recommend hw protection. I stick to monthly pills and none in the winter.

Re: Successful multipitbull families/homes

There's no way to judge, every dog is different. Best you can do is manage, no food/toys/treats left out to cause an issue, step in if things get too rough, avoid triggers that have proven to be a problem. I have three dogs and there is a lot of management, there have been a couple scuffles, over fo...

I like a 42" crate for pit bull sized dogs. That's wire though, I don't have the plastic kind.

Re: Rabbit?

Organs are safe although go slow on them or your dogs may get the runs. I personally would maybe feed a day of rabbit, then kibble the next day instead of mixing them.

Re: eosinophilic furunculosis

I seem to recall someone on here had a dog with a similar issue awhile back but not sure who. That looks painful, good thing you were able to find out what the issue was and get her some relief.
