Re: Nero had a seizure

We've been hiding it in cheese or meat which seems to work but pb he'll lick off and drop the pill, same with coating it in coconut oil or anything I've tried so far. He's gotten a little better about crating and whining, but still back to reactive on walks and now he's stumbled a couple times? Like...

Re: Nero had a seizure

He's doing well, still a little more antsy than normal, doesn't want to go in his crate anymore and noisy all the time but no seizures or other side effects. He's losing hair again but think it's the normal allergies he always gets this time of year and not related. I am going ahead and switch him t...

Re: Nero had a seizure

Your link did not work? However I was actually debating swapping him to PMR, I already feed Jersey raw but need to figure some finances, I just found a possible new supplier for cheap organs/by products that would help although not much available this time of year. There are a couple dog owners on t...

Re: Nero had a seizure

He's 5-ish, we've had him four years and no trifexis, the vet asked if we had him on proheart because they said that can cause seizures too but we use heartguard here and nothing for ticks/fleas since we don't have an issue with fleas and stay away from the woods.

Re: Riddle's TTA recovery thread

Scary, a friends dog just hit the e vet for the same reason, bloody poo, she is on a lot of meds right now too and they weren't sure if that's what caused it. Glad to hear she seems to be feeling better though.

Re: Nero had a seizure

Well no more seizures or whatever, but the phenobarb is making him pretty much lose any ounce of self control he had, he's always been a vocal high energy dog, but now he is extremely whiny, back to being reactive on walks, screaming in the kennel, clingy even more than usual. I've read the side eff...

Re: Nero had a seizure

I'm not sure what the plan of attack is yet, we are going to see how the weekend goes, I had planned to take all the dogs and ferrets to our Duluth vet for checkups on Tues but couldn't get in, they had to move around appts. because of the floods. I'd rather have him see there over the local vet if ...

Re: Nero had a seizure

Honestly it seems more like he's hallucinating and he slept forever last night. Looked up a couple times this morning but then started doing it very low key when James got home and he got revved up. Vet said to try and keep him "calm". Yeah that's a word not in Nero's vocabulary and to giv...

Nero had a seizure

It was weird, he just started snapping at the air like there was a fly but didn't stop and it went on for several minutes, he was so amped up at the vet he wasn't really doing it anymore. I took a vid on my camera thanks to reading other people's stories and it was good I did since what he was doing...

Re: False pregnancy?

.Iv met 2 people at the pet store ask if I would be willing to have her mate with their dog. ! Trust me, every pit bull owner gets this, we've been asked by about 95% of other pit bull owners we've met and none of them care where our dogs came from, what their health or temperament is like, they ju...

Re: Diabetic dog questions?

I told him to bring the meter into the vet on Tues and check it against there's, I know lots of people on my ferret forum use human ones for their insulinomic ferrets and just adjust as needed if they are off but I will pass along the info. I asked about the pancreatitis thing as well because seems ...

Diabetic dog questions?

Looking for some info on diabetes in dogs, a friends dog has been sick and today was diagnosed with diabetes and possible pancreatitis. Lena is a 10 year old 115! pound husky, the vet gave him insulin, told him to give it wherever but didn't show him how so I did some looking and gave her the shot t...

Re: Hello from Los Angeles

No, dogs can stop liking each other at any time, there are people with dogs who lived together fine for years and years, until they didn't. It really depends on the dogs if they can be safely around each other, if they are getting into fights all the time it's not a good situation for anybody and be...
