Well, I'm leaning towards it being a scratch (Trevor the cat has a tendency to play a little tough with my big bad pit bull) because it hasn't swollen or anything like that. If it's gotten smaller, it hasn't changed much. We have an appointment Tuesday for a "play date" with our vet, but t...

Yup - you might want to call first to see if they carry them, and they're about $15 a bottle (which is why the store that makes the mix for $6 is so nice) but the Bach's Flower Essences are available in stores as well. On days when Oscar's extra stressed, I put a little on my hands and pet him with ...

Oscar does that on the trail, so I haven't seen the animal that left it - he chomps in that scenting way, and if the urine is especially yummy that he's smelling, his chomping sounds all squishy and he spits. It's incredibly pleasant. :\ He's been fixed for almost four years - are there still enough...

Do you feed raw meat ever? I just poke the salmon oil capsules into the chicken and Oscar never notices (at least he doesn't say anything)

Puppy food is higher calorie. Fat dogs are unhealthy dogs.

No, a few more weeks to finish off a bag won't hurt, but not getting another bag and starting on adult food really won't either.

Oscar has his own little blend to deal with fear issues: Rock Rose, Star of Bethlehem, Crab Apple, Mimulus, and Rescue Remedy mixed together. All of these are for various fear related issues. I go to a health food store that will mix up the batch for me for $6, which is way cheaper than buying all t...

Most shelters that I've dealt with have been happy to do so. However, most of them also take basic donations, and give the animals a blend of everything they have so that if they don't get donations of a specific brand, no one gets too freaked.

Good luck with the pup!

Sharon/pblove and I order it from the same place, and I know they won't ship because it needs to stay frozen (it is raw, after all). I expect shipping would be extremely expensive, but you might try contacting them (I'm sure there's info on the site). I'm getting a new month's worth soon and trying ...

For the dog, I buy about a month's worth of K9 Kravings and keep that in the freezer, except three days worth, which stay in the freezer. Each day, I take one out of the freezer and put it in the fridge, and feed him one from the fridge. For the extra meats (chicken or turkey quarters, usually) I do...

Well, it's not swollen at all or anything - it's just suddenly pink there, where last I can recall, it was black. I first noticed it a day or two ago, and it hasn't changed in that time.

Muzzle discoloring?

I'm in the process of switching Oscar to a new vet, and we have a "playdate" this Tuesday for him to meet her and be bribed with treats without her doing anything at all unpleasant. This of course means I've noticed a weird spot on his face. And being who I am, I am now trying desperately ...

lol Mike Cat pee usually is way worse than dog pee, and they're more specific about going in the same place. I'd immediately tear down the house, spray the area with bleach and then rebuild. Or, go to the store and buy one of those enzyme things and really soak the area. You don't want kitty to deci...

I would not feed my dog anything that would be unsafe for me to eat. Spend a lot of time munching on puppy chow, do you? There are things that are safe for them that are not for us, and things that are safe for us but not for them. It's why we call them "dogs" and us "people" :t...
