You vet didn't recommend any kind of tranquilizer? That strikes me as odd, and something you may want to request specifically. Do you know anyone you could have take the dog to fun places in the car in the next few weeks? For the actual trip, I'd say drastically limit her food (and probably water to...

Poor guy! Maybe he just didn't know what to get you for your birthday? (Happy birthday to you, huh?)

Hang in there - we're all thinking of you - have a better day!

(this might fit better in either health or behavior, but)

Humping isn't sex, it's dominance. Her hormones are all wonky now, so he's probably just making sure she knows... er... who's her daddy.

I wouldn't mix it with the kibble, but feed it in a separate meal. I've been told the kibble digests at a different rate than the raw, and the two in the tummy together can start battles.

Vinegar Wash

I've often seen it recommended to use vinegar as an antiseptic. I've done it on myself, but that's when I know exactly how much it stings. Oscar has some scrapes on his toes, and has been licking his feet a little (possibly because of the scrapes) and I wanted to make sure they're as clean as dog fe...

I'd CALL the vet who delivered the shots now. Often shots have side effects, but IIRC, they often say if the dog throws up to let them know.

A call can't hurt, and might give helpful information.

Research appears to show that eating a raw diet (containing salmonella) increases the amount of salmonella shed in feces. I voted last night and I forget what I put. I think "rarely" because while we walk every day in woods in the park, and we often see people there, he doesn't often come...

Poor baby! You won't be able to edit your post - it's not you, just the rules. But his poor leg, and poor sad little face! No need to cook the chicken breast - in fact, don't EVER cook bones and feed them. But just raw is fine for him and will probably tickle him pink. Best wishes for a speedy recov...

I'm laughing at the thought of measuring a chew toy in "weeks". Minutes is more like it. Natural bones bigger than his own legs last well, and we have one rubber toy that hasn't disintegrated (and we've had it about four days) but he's not super crazy about it unless it's got the kong stuf...

Walks and class only. And not every walk, just the ones where I want to work training in as well, or where he's wearing a coat (and the harness we use otherwise would cause complications) I didn't notice it in the first month, but this month it's gotten pretty bad - he's got a darkening grey ring ar...

Ring around the (prong) collar

Oscar (at left) has a white neck. Rather, he HAD a white neck. We started using a prong collar in December and now he has a silver/grey neck. I've been told this is a common side effect of the prong collars, but is there anything I can do to stop it other than bathing him every day (which would resu...

I don't grind anything for the dog. I just got a grinder (it arrived this morning) and it will be for the cats' food. The dog has happily eaten everything I've given him, lamb being the largest bone we've done for dinner purposes (as opposed to recreational masticating 8) )
