Re: Ruby, Ruby, Ruby....scared of clickers

I'm going to continue with the verbal marker, because like Val said, there will be times where I don't have a clicker. Plus, I'd like to work on Ruby's confidence a bit more before bringing out the "clicker of doom".

I just like hearing other people's experiences.

Ruby, Ruby, Ruby....scared of clickers

So, Red (Val) came over this weekend and was wonderful about answering all my questions about Ruby and gave me a great foundation to work with. She discovered that Ruby is fearful of the clicker (and is a fearful dog in general). She was ok when Val had the clicker behind her back, but when it went ...

Me too! Our entire patio is covered in pollen, along with most of the neighborhood. It looks like a bunch of children attacked the neighborhood w/ yellow chalk. We're moving at the end of April.

Re: Haileys Got Bumps.. too.

That's how Ruby's bumps were. She was itching like a maniac b/c of environmental allergies and it caused a secondary skin infection. Good times. :woowoo:

Re: Ruby's Got Bumps

Went to the vet and found out that she does have a skin infection caused by scratching and the scratching is mostly caused by an environmental allergen, like pollen. So she received a steroid shot and some antibiotics. Yay for figuring out what the bumps were.

Re: Ruby's Got Bumps

I was thinking of dousing a washcloth in an apple cider vinegar mixture and wiping her down with that. She hates baths and I figure I could spare her the agony. Plus, the husband is out of town and baths are a two person plus peanut butter job. lol

Re: Ruby's Got Bumps

We switched to Zyrtec because the Benedryl wasn't helping with the itch.

Ruby's Got Bumps

I would take a picture, but I can't get close enough to her with the camera to see the bumps. They're all over her back, neck and shoulders. First, the bump forms, then it bleeds and the hair falls out and then it scabs up. I was thinking that it was an allergy thing, but then I saw ewwie's post in ...

Redirection of frustration

So Ruby has decided that she likes to bark and freak out about one of our cats. When she can't get to him, which is every time, she looks frustrated and grabs the nearest object (chair, her toy, Jack's toy) and bites it. She doesn't chew it, just bites it, and then seems to feel a little better. She...

I just saw this, thanks to a post in the General section - I don't visit this part very much.

I'm so sorry this is happening to you and Tigger! I will keep good thoughts for your family and for good news for Tigger.
