Re: I think Maya has a form up puppy autism...

IF that happens. the problem, though, is when the instigating dog does not take the serious correction well and takes it as a signal to fight. kinda sounds like that's what you've got going on? This is a huge issue with her, because eventually JD will stand up, hackles raised growling at her....if ...

I think Maya has a form up puppy autism...

Seriously, she has no understanding of canine social cues, appropriate behavior, or body language. Last night for example, JD was laying on the futon with his tennis ball (I know he really shouldn't have this in the house since it's such a high prized possession for him...but I forgot to take it fro...

Re: Prayers for Reno!

I'm so sorry to hear about your grandmother, my thoughts are with you. Did they do an aspirate of the lump and look at it under the microscope? It's my understanding that if it was serious they would most likely see bad cells under the scope. I know how hard it is not to worry, but it would seem our...

Re: Prayers for Reno!

I would think histiocytoma, which are benign. "a histiocytoma is "a benign skin tumor, usually seen in young dogs, that often spontaneously regresses without treatment." " They are removing it most likely because it COULD be a mast cell tumor- though not likely. JD had one at abo...

Re: Cruz Diagnosed with Extreme Hip Dysplasia

I will just say a few things. The FHO- which is what you spoke about in your first post, was done on an APBT who full grown is about 63 lbs. A few things about this I wanted to tell you, Lexus has very good use of the leg, considering that my friend has done nothing along the lines of PT with her to...

Re: Nail Trimming

I can't comment on the cost, it depends on what they are sedated with, how long it takes, and the particular vet. Jd has to have his done periodically, and at that point we usually do nails, ears, and anal glands, while he is sedated with dormitor, that way we can wake him up as soon as we are done....

Re: advice for puppy jumping on the dinner table :-/

I'm having a hard time with this as well, at least the jumping on the table. Maya knows what "off" means and it works sometimes, other times I have to stand up and she will jump down, and sometimes I have to physically remove her paws from the counter...I don't have advice, I just feel you...

Re: Maya is hard headed with no manners :(

I would have a very hard time with NILIF, all I want to do is hug and kiss them all day long, so I know that a big part of this is me...so yes she does get praised every time she does something I want...is it any different than the rest of her day, probably not, maybe slightly more enthusiastic. And...

Re: Maya is hard headed with no manners :(

the only question I have, thank you for the advice btw...is with game B....when i'm putting the treat back in the bowl, am I giving her one from the bowl at the same time? So no matter what in the beginning if she obeys she gets the treat? And when i'm trying to do this away from the bowl...do I hav...

Maya is hard headed with no manners :(

Ok, so Maya will do ANYTHING I want as long as there is food in my hand. Take that away and forget it, she seems to just go deaf. She is a jumper, garbage picker, counter surfer, food stealer, object chewer....and overall brat. I have no idea how to get through to her aside from feeding her treats a...

Re: What IS this bump on Cash's stomach?

JD had one on his chest, and we removed it and had it biopsied. Originally they couldn't figure it out with a cytology...he was also really bothered by it...glad to hear it turned out well
