bump

Let's see, you started Wednesday, and now it's Sunday -- day 5. When you say they're doing excellent, that means what? They ate it up, no puking, no diarrhea? You people who feed part raw and part kibble -- are you feeding one in the morning and the other in the evening, or are you feeding them some...

I'm not in rescue, and I'm new to the breed, so my free opinion may be worth every penny. I would attach more conditions, and if they meet those conditions, let them adopt (with the standard contract about returning the dog in case of problems etc.). Everything in life is risky to some degree or oth...

Is she on antibiotics? I seem to recall that Rocco had "accidents" in the house while he was on antibiotics, found out later that was a typical side-effect of that particular kind of drug (wish I could remember exactly what it was called).

Don't the sardines have a net weight on the label?

(I used to date a b.i.t.c.h. -- beautiful, intelligent, talented, courageous, and honest, as her favorited t-shirt proudly proclaimed. Though from your description, maybe it wouldn't fit your mother.)

Seeking veterinarian, Tacoma WA

We live in Tacoma's Hilltop neighborhood -- a little southwest from downtown. Our regular vet is out in Puyallup, a ways past South Hill Mall... looks close a map, but in weekday traffic, it's a truly hellish drive. Since the genius vet who used to work there has returned to Canada, I'd like to fin...

Thanks for the diary!

I'll be reading with interest, since I'm seriously considering going raw. GF is dubious about parasites and bacteria and cost. I'm dubious about cost (I figure they're evolved to deal with bacteria, and to some degree parasites...). Good luck, and let us know how it goes!

Tacoma area, Tacoma WA

Next to Nature http://next-to-nature.com/ , a small Seattle-area chain... Used to be downtown on Pacific Ave., but they moved up the hill a few blocks: 1624 Tacoma Ave S, Tacoma, WA 98402 (phone 253-779-8141) The new location has much better parking, and it's on the #3 bus route. They carry more br...

What happend, 30 dogs in WA?

I thought there was a topic about 30 dogs in Snohomish, WA, needing kennels constructed etc. Can't find it now... What am I doing wrong?

Sorry, I'm sure there's a better way to ask than creating a new thread, but I don't find a link "contact the moderators" or similar.

Thought of what I'd like to see in the owner's packet: a list of the usual dog vaccinations and when they should be given (puppyhood only, or annually, or what), thumbnail info on common / serious dog diseases (what is parvo, what is kennel cough), and a brief outline of pit-bull-specific health pro...

Are those brochures available at pnwpbr.com ?

Also, is there a non-flash version of the site? Only about half the links seemed to work with my computer. The "store" link worked, but not the "breed info" one.

SeaTac; air kennels

My job is picking up freight at SeaTac and driving it to a sorting warehouse. I see dogs coming in there all the time at Delta Airlines, and once in a while at Northwest Airlines. Anyway, many of the airlines (United and Delta, for example) now use subcontractors (rather than employees) to staff the...

I've been wondering the same thing. Even though it doesn't get really cold here, I've seen Rufus shivering a few times (so I tucked a small $5 fleece blanket under his harness, which seemed to warm him up enough). To my surprise though, on our recent trip, he loved romping in the snow in Montana, ev...

Yo from Tacoma

Hi fellow dog people, I'm Mike, male, 43 years old, unmarried but shacked up long-term, no kids; grew up in Chicago, living about 12 years now in the great Pacific North Wet. Almost a year ago, my GF and I agreed to foster Rocco and Rufus, whose house was being foreclosed with the result that their ...
