Re: Natural Food vs. "Major" Brand vs. Raw

E. coli, salmonella, worms, etc. (I am super paranoid) I have never had any issues, these are dogs, they have iron cast stomachs. I worm my dogs every six months, and did the same when they ate kibble. So, that kind of thing I don't worry about. TOTW is a good food, and you get a lot of bang for yo...

what diseases?

80-10-10 is the rule of thumb to follow when you do a raw diet.

Re: Natural Food vs. "Major" Brand vs. Raw

Wow! How old is she and what do you feed her? (Raw wise - animals and parts lol) Her teeth look great! Prey model diet. No premade stuff here, it's not cost effective for me. So, just anything everything, kidneys, backs, liver, heart, necks, spleen, lung, trecha, legs, wings, thighs, tounge ewwwwww...

Re: Hog Hunting--too dangerous for rescue dogs?

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how many hogs die, they will always be over populated, there is no controlling of them. The wild hogs are out of control, they have no natural enemies, here or over in Europe. Most hunters send dogs out with heavily experienced dogs, and these are dogs that h...

Re: Natural Food vs. "Major" Brand vs. Raw

I agree. Nothing makes me more angry then when people are feeding a raw diet incorrectly. And refuse to take advice. And have a million reasons to why they can't feed a correct diet. If you can't feed a correct raw diet, then feed a high grade kibble. Sorry, just my rant.

Re: Natural Food vs. "Major" Brand vs. Raw

Blah, I feed RAW it's cheaper than kibble. I feed kibble on occasion, when I am out of raw, but it's not very often. Dottie's breeder is a Vet, and she feeds a raw diet to her dogs. My personal vet is a raw feeder, I think most people I know are also. For us, it's economical, and the health benefits...

keep the dogs separated and safe until you can find a safe place to live. Same sex aggression is normal and part of the breed. In the mean time, please read this topic on how to break up a dog fight. http://www.pitbullforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=79642" onclick="window.open(this.href);return fa...

Re: Hog Hunting--too dangerous for rescue dogs?

I'd see the over population issues curved with a good shot and a gun than a dog's teeth tearing into flesh. But that's just me. Hogs aren't always that easy to find...I mean while there is a huge over population of them, using a gun isn't always the right thing to do, especially when it comes to re...

Re: Natural Food vs. "Major" Brand vs. Raw

Back is the back of the animal (which you can buy), a lot of people promote the use of backs and necks for some reason, IMO they are too boney and not enough meat on them, I dont waste my money on them. Back and necks are boney meals, and do serve a purpose. Backs (chicken) are like tooth picks for...

Re: Puppy will be here in a month - What do I need?

Yeah, don't worry about a collar, when puppy arrives you might consider going with a harness. I never use collars on puppies until they mature a little and are like 9months to a year old. I'd spend most of my money on work to eat toys, ottoson puzzles, fetch toys, building obstacles to play on and ...

Re: Is Sch too......easy?

Any bite sport dog should confident, stable, and fearless. However, no dog is perfect, each dog needs tweaking, and building on certain things. But, there is no place for a shy, fearful or timid dog on the field. (however, that is not always the case, some people put too much pressure on the dog, an...

Re: Is Sch too......easy?

Dogs who do protection or SchH should not be DANGEROUS dogs and if the dog doesn't want to do this type of work or shows certain signs they SHOULDN'T be taught to bite work. Period. It creates a potentially dangerous dog. I am curious what signs are you talking about? Obviously a fearful or timid d...
