Re: poppymart

I couldn't spend much this year but I got some Espree shampoo that smells delish. It was sent quickly, just like in years past.

I definitely need to set up a poppymart stash of money for next year. lol

Re: Good collar/halter for walking?

On a puppy that young I'd probably try out front clip harness before I went with a head halter. I've used both types (both are GL brand) and they have their pros and cons. Of course no tool is a replacement for training, but in combination with it, they can be very helpful. :) There are a lot great ...

Re: Still looking for a weight pull harness

I have no personal experience with either company, but I've only heard good things about both. You can try doing a search on this site and see if you can find more reviews. :)

I would appreciate it if you would contact me directly if there is an issue rather than drag my name through the mud. Thanks.

Re: Trick of the month

I definitely want in. Stella can pick up and hold things, but doesn't always bring them back and I don't have a solid retrieve command.

Re: "Dogs need by products"-Vet

I am curious where that information comes from, because I have always read that their digestive systems are virtually identical? I realize that dogs are opportunistic of course. If you could provide the studies/science behind the differences in their digestive systems and dietary requirements I woul...

Re: "Dogs need by products"-Vet

I'm not going to go into the whole Science Diet thing, but the comment about settlers eating corn and so it's what our dogs need is hysterical. A) The domesticated dog was around thousands of years prior to these "settlers". B) A dog's digestive system hasn't changed, despite their being d...

And starr, I'm quite fond of my critical thinking skills, hence why I don't take any one thing as gospel, regardless of who/where it comes from. ;)

Re: Bil-Jac Dog Food

Have you been invited to tour all the facilities, so that you can definitively say that only the Hills company has great quality control?

Ultimately, dried up nuggets aren't the ideal food for any animal.

Re: Wysong Dog Food

I raw feed my dogs but have recently switched my cats over to Wysong Epigen. They love it and the one who had allergies has completely stopped scratching. As far as grain free cat foods go, it's not as pricey as some, but cat food is more expensive than dog food, generally speaking. ;) If you can af...

Re: Bil-Jac Dog Food

Well now wait a minute. Is there NO way of knowing if the ingredients are top quality in ANY of the foods, or is it just Science Diet that you know uses top quality ingredients?

Not trying to be argumentative, but you've contradicted yourself and I want to understand what you mean exactly.

Re: Bil-Jac Dog Food

I've seen dogs that look fine on Ol' Roy. I also have a husband that could eat McD's all day and not gain a pound. Does this mean that any of this is good for optimum health? No. Corn is used in pet food because it's a cheap filler. Is it species appropriate? No. Nor is rice. Kibble isn't species ap...

Re: How Have You Stayed Calm/Relaxed?

I feel ya. I have a DA dog and a lot of irresponsible neighbors who let their dogs run around off leash. I'm pretty high strung by nature, so that doesn't help. lol Your best bet is to have a plan in place in case "the worst" was to happen. My husband and I know what to do if a dog approac...
