Re: Garlic for dogs?

Science and facts... got it. I also use heartworm preventatives seasonally... not because I'm scared of them, but because I'm lazy and cheap and the risks are minimal for my area, as previously stated. Honesty, refreshing! Oh my. Not sure where all the hostility and name calling is coming from. Hig...

Exactly. That's why I give a dose in November, well after the temps have dropped. ;)

Re: Garlic for dogs?

Wow. I'm not talking about conspiracy theories, I'm talking science. Facts. That sort of thing.

I use and advocate the use of heartworm meds. I also advocate information, learning, etc. I see nothing wrong with that.

Ah well, to each his own.

Re: Garlic for dogs?

I give only every 45 days, not 30. Just mosquitoes are present, doesn't mean the heartworm larvae is. http://www.acreaturecomfort.com/heartworminfo.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; I'm not suggesting that people don't give their dogs heartworm meds, I'm just saying there is more to...

Re: Garlic for dogs?

I feel my dogs BARF, and include one clove of garlic every couple of days in the vegetable glop. They haven't had to be on flea or tick medicine since I started feeding them raw. Don't move to the midwest... your dog would be a walking tick-borne disease magnet... Do you give your dog heartworm pre...

I am definitely going to try those candies! I've been putting it on my toast in the morning. Yum!

The dogs haven't had any stomach upset from it. :)

Re: RAW diets and proper nutrition?

Unless your dog is unwell, my guess is that most people aren't being asked what they feed. I could be wrong, of course. ;) Whether you choose to feed raw or kibble, you should educate yourself, closely monitor your dog, and take them for regular wellness exams. I don't see anyone disputing this. The...

Re: RAW diets and proper nutrition?

I have never been asked what I feed my dogs, and the vet always comments on what nice body condition their in and how great their teeth look. I just smile and nod. I wouldn't ask my general practitioner for nutrition advice, nor would I ask my regular veterinarian (that's just me, I'm not suggesting...

Re: RAW diets and proper nutrition?

Sounds like neglect to me, as well. Maybe not on purpose, but a lack of education. On that note, raw feeding doesn't take a degree in nutrition. Do your research and monitor your dog's health. Some people want us to believe that we're too stupid to possibly feed our dogs without the use of commercia...

Re: Those of you that use or would like to use

I've been adding it to the girls' food for about a week now. Their coats, which were soft to begin with, are even softer and shinier! I'm loving this stuff!

Plus, it tastes good. lol

Best of luck with her!

As far as food goes, I like TOTW when I'm not raw feeding.

I would go the raw bone route, but I know some people are wigged out by the idea.

What is CET? Website?

Re: By Nature Salmon, Ocean Fish & Yogurt Dry Dog Food

Imani's? I thought in her previous thread last month that she was putting her dog down for HA and was concerned for her, knowing that it must be incredibly hard. So this thread threw me off, but maybe she's talking about a different dog. I'm confused is all.
