But yea, two dogs is definitely more work than one dog. If you don't think you can afford them or have the time to take care of both of them properly, maybe you should give the lab back to your friend and just have her come over for playdates?

That would work.

what do you mean by your lab is in the dog house? is she tied out in the yard all night to a dog house? No not tied up, she is in the 10X5 pen. in the heated dog house. that doesn't answer my question :)) I was going to answer when I found out what you meant by my dog is in the dog house. Sometimes...

Yes. I'd feed her from my hand so that I can easily stop the food if she barks. (ideally, you should be able to call your dog away from his or her bowl at any time, and I can with my dog, but I doubt you'll be able to do that with a still learning babe.) Assuming she gets kibble, what I'd do is thi...

Nobody is not telling you things to make you "throw money away.Keeping your animals safe is important. If you don't have money for a crate you could find an alternative solution till you save up a little. People whose dogs also died because they were "great friends" had the same mind ...

as I said, they do not fight at all, my male lab and female pit did, the female pit tore up the male lab within 5 mins of being together in the play area. but the two females lab and pit get along fine, a week together in a crate and in a pen /doghouse no fights. I thought they were your friends do...

Well that's why you are the most exciting thing! You're the one that gives her attention, not to mention food, etc. It's apparent that she has bonded to you pretty well already. I think you should see it as a good thing that she wants to follow you, it's definitely better than the alternative (her ...

That's a GREAT solution, as long as you don't mind horrendous e-vet bills to stitch up dogs after a fight, or worse yet, a dead dog. as I said, they do not fight at all, my male lab and female pit did, the female pit tore up the male lab within 5 mins of being together in the play area. but the two...

You have to get a toy or something that they are really excited about. Roxy likes things that squeak. Then drag it around like it is a small animal.. fast, jerky movements.. then some slow, then fast again. I am using a Wubba right now, because she got bored with the last toy we had (I think becaus...

Thanks a lot everyone! I guess I will be going out to buy a cable! I definitely wanted to make sure nothing was going to happen to her!! :)) I say a long cable or leash would work fine, that way you can grab it . I use two cable locks,(about 30 foot) with a tow rope (6 foot)with big hooks on it alo...
