The fact that the other dog was "allowed" to flip a dog over, proves again that the human wasnt the leader Is that to me? I'm not trying to have a discussion about humans and what we should or shouldn't do. I guess I didn't make that clear. To me, I thought that this was just an interesti...

Interesting.... while I don't agree with, nor do I roll any dogs, I have seen on a few occasions, what appears to be a dog flipping and holding another dog. I am and have been around dogs much more than your average person. I have multiple dogs, I foster dogs, most of my friends have multiple dogs, ...

I don't have advice exactly, but I at least have a plan for myself. I have been training for obedience for years (but not really consistantly.) Abner has a nice heel and knows all the novice exercises. Everytime we have attempted to pull it together at a trial though the combination of his environme...

Abner has had them removed from:

ear
nose
penis
throat (he ate a bunch of them)

Basically we have had one foxtail-related vet visit per year. My dog Turtle, on the other hand, has never had one - and she is just about 9 years old. :dunno:

I hate them with a passion!

One of my client's dogs has a glass eye - different than what you are describing but here is a pic. He's the guy on the right. http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3331/3514031667_7dd4c6796f.jpg It looks good - it is hard to tell at a glance and almost looks like he has a cataract in that eye. I can ask h...

Hey C, the one I had at the last trial I got at big lots for super cheap. Is that the kind you mean? I also saw some nice white ones on sale at OSH the other day.

Low-riding Meadow - SF Bay area

Meadow showed up at my shelter as a stray with a bellyfull of babies that she birthed during her stray hold. The babies are no longer with us (long story) but Meadow is and she is cute as heck. She's short and dense and has the biggest underbite. The inside of her mouth looks like a bulldog's. My ph...

So true Kai on the lottery sentiment! Also, I have to add, you can't really tell in the photos or blog post, but the entire space is securely fenced. The fence around Ana's cottage is just a privacy fence from the other house. At any rate, not that you need someone else chiming in to defend you A, b...

Ha! Now I see why my flickr page is getting so many views! Well I don't think my Meadow is the dog for Ana, but she is a nice girl and will be available for adoption soon so I will be sure to post her up here once she is.

The perfect dog will find you Ana!

Oh Woodrow :inlove:

He looks so special! Those teeth could just be from tennis balls too. You should see the nubs on my 8 year old dog.

He's beautiful though and I wish I could take him.

Hey heartbullies - Stand was hard for me to teach too. I screwed it up with Abner and then had to back track and even now I would say it is his shakiest command, though he gets it when we are doing the formal exercise. The lure can be a little tricky because they seem to not get the physical positio...
