Re: A Law or Restriction on breeding?

No no, I should've specified, I didn't mean YOU want them to go away - there was someone who had previously mentioned that the good breeders would go away and the bad ones would thrive... I just don't see how it would work like that with this law. If anything - the responsible breeders would probabl...

Re: A Law or Restriction on breeding?

I'm curious... Why would the good breeders go away? So I can understand that the process of breeding would be more difficult - but the good breeders are already full aware that the entire process is not without its hardships... What difference would it make if they had to apply for a permit, or prov...

Re: A Law or Restriction on breeding?

It may seem like a simple enough task, but when you get into it in depth, there would be a million different variables that would have to be addressed. What kind of food is acceptable for a dog? how much space does each dog require to be comfortable(this would obviously vary with size, which would take...

Re: A Law or Restriction on breeding?

You are something else - I did not call for the thread to be locked rather tried to get the conversation back ON TOPIC and off of a topic that in banned from the forums - politics. You think most BYBs aren't treating their dogs right? I think not, I think most BYBs treat their dogs like an average c...

Re: A Law or Restriction on breeding?

I can see this topic getting locked up real fast if we don't get back to the theoretical law that was originally posted.. - Just saying.

Re: A Law or Restriction on breeding?

With abuse rates, I would. Yeah, I get what you're saying, but I'm thinking that the abuse rates would drop fairly quickly if only responsible people were allowed pets. (if only responsible breeders were able to sell/rehome them as well as shelters) I guess there are always the slip ups... I've see...

Re: A Law or Restriction on breeding?

there are NO laws for this... So it has to start SOMEWHERE... The law that you hold in the highest regard started from nothing. As could this one.

Re: A Law or Restriction on breeding?

I don't know if I would go so far as to have a permit when it comes to the ownership of pets... I think if the back yard breeders were cut out of the equation - the permits wouldn't be needed anyway, because NO WAY is a responsible breeder going to send their babies to someone without a suitable hom...

Re: A Law or Restriction on breeding?

a few mutts being put to sleep at the shelter ... Are you serious? I'm not attacking and I know what your point is, but that is the MOST ignorant post I've read in a long time, its not a few mutts, its thousands upon THOUSANDS and they did not ask to be here, nor to come to their end in a shelter b...

Re: Hi NAME IS Samantha and I'm new

I bet you were scammed from a backyard breeder. "Lost" the father's papers, how convient for them. Anyhow, welcome! Ditto! :welcome: You'll come to see that unfortunately, this tends to happen a lot... With every breed of dog... Papers don't really mean anything anyway, you can have a per...

Re: Foods for dogs with dental problems...

yeah shes going to be brushing his teeth, I suggested that raw bones would be good, but not until after the work is done because we don't want him to damage them any further since his teeth probably arent' very strong at this point... I'll let her know that she can use the vet brand food as a treat ...

Foods for dogs with dental problems...

Hi guys, a friend of mine adopted a dog from rescue who now has some major dental issues... They're going to have to extract a tooth and all. He needs a cleaning to. Its going to cost over $550 and I guess for some that may not seem to steep for the amount of work being done, but well, here, its a l...
