I'm glad they moved the date up - Christmas Eve is an aweful time to get a dog. I really feel for you - she seems like she's a real sweetie.

There is absolutely no way the shelter would be able to hold them (in house or in foster) until they matured. We're an animal control facility - no can do. Besides the fact that these pups were just born and mom will be PTS on the 12th, so they'd need round the clock care. Everything you guys are s...

Definitely a sad situation. I would PTS the puppies. What would you tell potential adopters? Um, the mom is unstable and aggressive and will be PTS, and we don't know who the dad is....could you just watch them Veeeery carefully for 2 or 3 years and then PTS if they bite someone, especially one of y...

It's hard to say what the mama is while she is so skinny. When I got Puny (Maggie) from you I swore she had a little shepherd in her as her coat was longish and she had NO width to her head. Once she filled out she got head muscles and her coat got very short and now she looks like a pit bull or may...

I think there is someone on the board who has a dog who had this. I had a basenji who dislocated her hip (escape artist kicked by cow) and they did this and it worked just great. It took nearly a year for her to really walk normally on it, but she was fine after that as long as I kept her weight dow...

Yay!!! It's wonderful that you could be there for him. All dogs are deserving but he seems to have that special light and trust like you said. I'm so glad that he has his chance.

Though to some degree male horse can control 'it'.... When I took riding lessons my instructor insisted that we learn to clean 'sheaths'... All her geldings were trained to 'drop it' on command. So I guess they could control it. I never thought about them retracting on command though.
