I think some dogs just have that kind of personality...

I've had two dogs (strangely enough both female) that despite a good and secure upbringing were INSANE about food... I've never had a male dog that was that way...hmmm.

Mine smell a bit like dry grass or sometimes Fritos. I had a foster that was a bit funky kind of cheesy, but she had a tendency towards yeast infections of the skin. She smelled the worst when we first got her from the shelter and got somewhat better on good dog food.

The confounding thing may be that some dogs will appear totally cat safe in one environment only to unleash their cat killer instincts in another (a new foster home or, god forbid, new home). The temporary lack of structure or change in routine or change in cats allows their prey drive to overcome a...

Nature's Variety is excellent! Don't be afraid to cut back on her food even a bit more if she's not losing... My dog Mooches maintains a healthy weight on 1 1/2 cups of NV a day (split between 2 meals) - he's 55 lbs, 7 years old, and gets about the same amount of exercise as your dog.

I, personally, believe the reason diets such as Hills, Iams, etc. can show results is because MOST dog owners really feed crap... Old Roy, Kennel Ration, Kibbles and Bits, etc, and its not hard to be better than those... I mean how many folks do you know who feed their toy dogs that 'semi-moist' ham...
