My dogs do better overall on Nature's Variety (the New Zealand Venison) than Evo, but they each reacted differently to each of the foods and the switch... The point is...if an individual dog doesn't take well to one food, it's time to try another.

I second the comment on high quality food reducing shedding. Mooches is a GSD/pit bull cross and for five of his seven years he has shed like a shepherd. Hair all year around.... :crybaby: Last year when we had some foster dogs and then got Puny I started feeding him a much higher quality food (Natu...

Depending on the dog, you can sometimes get away with smearing the capsule with butter.... Works on my dogs that don't chew their food. Worst case scenario (for a picky dog or a dog that gets that nasty antibiotic taste in their mouth once)...you may have to open the dog's mouth, place the capsule o...

Though ideally she (the bigger pup) should be evaled after some time in another environement - since that is not a possibility - go with your instinct. Your impression seems well informed and even if she improved, her temperament doesn't sound ideal from a safety or an enjoyability/trainability stan...

I feed twice a day for most of the reasons mentioned. I also like feeding twice a day because its my dogs' favorite time of the day and this way it happens twice... :))

I put 'not sure' because I don't think it matter so much if its dry or canned - it matters more what's in it. That being said - given a high quality dry and a high quality canned...I'd give dry. I agree with Katt.... lol

I would guess at his age that it is a skin infection or allergic reaction or a combination of both...especially since he's had demodex in the past. I would take him to the vet.

I wonder if its an enlarged lymph node. This would indicate an infection or virus of some kind - especially since you mentioned coughing and sneezing ... Not necessarily serious.

My two rarely get bathed. They stay pretty clean, though if they get dingy or a little stinky I give them a rub down with a bit of waterless shampoo on a damp towel and then dry towel them. We also live in the NW so they get walked in the rain and then toweled off a lot... Most of the reason I don't...
