Re: RAW feeding couple questions

ugh...meant to actually post a couple questions Is thawing and then refreezing bad, like it is for humans? or is it OK to do for them? What do you guy's feed for fish? I've thawed and refroze stuff before and haven't had any issues. Leo goes crazy for sardines in olive oil. Sometimes they have big ...

Re: B.A.R.F. 101

So we found out Leo was allergic to chicken, and chicken was the only source for organ meats we had, and we mainly fed him chicken most of the time but also beef/turkey/pork. This was a bummer, because going back on raw, I had no source for organ meat. But tonight at my local Publix supermarket, the...

Re: Health Precautions for the Beach

Heat stroke should not be a problem, but some shade/umbrella is good -- and you can let him go into the water to help cool off a bit. Try not to let him do any of his business on the beach. Take him for regular walks. IF he does have an "oops" and go on the beach, make sure you pick it up...

Health Precautions for the Beach

I hope this is the right section. Anyway, we are planning on bringing Leo to the beach tomorrow with us for the first time and we were wondering about a couple of things in order to keep him healthy and safe. To get a couple things out of the way, Leo will be leashed at all times obviously with me o...

Re: RAW feeding couple questions

I spoke to soon :crybaby: I woke up this morning to diarrhea on my living room carpet and a small spot in my utility room. The tile in the utility room was much easier to clean lol I could really careless about the carpet. I have a spotbot and it's just carpet. I'm totally stressed out. I feel horr...

Re: New TOTW flavor?

Yeah! Leo is on it now to get over a chicken food allergy, and he is definitely loving it more than any other kibble we've fed him from his reactions when we're scooping the food out for him.

Re: Yeast Infection? Please Help - With Pics

OH!!!! I'd also invest in an aloe plant... whenever we get bumps, we cut a piece off and apply the cooling liquid. Stops her from itching and helps the healing. Ohhhh we actually do have an aloe plant in our backyard we use at times. Didn't think of using it for Leo, I'll try that! To give an updat...

Re: His Neutered is scheduled....questions

Just wanted to say GOOD LUCK, and the worst part of the procedure for us was seeing our pup loopy and miserable after the surgery, and then a wreck for days afterwards! Oh man just brought back memories, it was so sad, it was the first time he had to wear an e-collar and since the medication made hi...

Re: Yeast Infection? Please Help - With Pics

salmon oil is a natural anti inflammatory, plus it is good for the coat. If you add salmon oil make sure you add vitamin e as well. You can also join raw feeding co ops on yahoo groups to get good deals on meat. There are some links in the RAW sticky. Thanks for the info. I joined a few Yahoo group...

Re: Yeast Infection? Please Help - With Pics

Yeah I know I can still feed raw, it would just be a bummer, because we get REALLY good deals on chicken quarters/chicken livers from this local market. I talked to the butcher and he assured me that all their meats are all natural and everything, even told me where they get it. I don't think think ...

Re: Yeast Infection? Please Help - With Pics

We got him TOTW lamb variety kibble (I miss raw already) to see if it was possibly the raw chicken we've been feeding recently, and already, the redness is miraculously better. It is still there, but it's not at all near what it is in the pics. I was hoping it wouldn't be an allergy to chicken, but ...

Re: Yeast Infection? Please Help - With Pics

My uncles dog suffers from this, the vet said it was allergies to food so he switch to a fish based kibble and it looks like its getting better. She got 3 medicines and it cure it in the first week completely, it just recently came back because they fed her chicken and it looks identical to your do...

Re: Yeast Infection? Please Help - With Pics

I'm not seeing markers for either bacterial or yeast infection... could be neither, could be both. It will take a skin cytology to know for sure. Your vet (if they're skin savvy) will take either clear tape or special sticky slides to get a sample of the skin cells and look at them under the micros...

Yeast Infection? Please Help - With Pics

I'm looking to find some people who have had similar skin issues. Is this a yeast infection? Leo has had issues with this same type of infection for quite some time now, and the prescribed medicine has not helped too much. When it gets back, like the inside of the hind legs, it seems to help that so...
