Re: Any rescue groups willing to take 8 week old into program?

Totally off topic, but I just bought a shirt from these guys! (it says I rescue Pit Bulls-ask me about it).

Re: Relief for damp, yeasty areas

I also put in in between her toes too and it helps keep them dry. This is a good idea for our Bailey. Maybe I can do that and put a cone on her when we go to works so she won't lick it. The vet suggested Selson Blue shampoo for her feet once a week or so. We haven't tried it yet, but I think we're ...

Re: couple questions befor I dive in

Gsellers be wary of the "bait dog" spiel. If you become an active member of this forum or stay connected somehow to this breed you will start to realize that every dog you come across with any sort of scaring or fear/aggression problem was a "bait dog". It's a good marketing tech...

Sounds like ringworm or the mange that is localized. Get that picture up quick so other people can give advice. It's likely going to need a vet visit though.

Re: You know what I've noticed???

It's not like that here. We do some volunteer work through our shelter and I would say 95% of the dogs we see are Pit Bull or are some mix of PB. Even when we were taking our own obedience classes, there were quite a few Pit Bulls. But it is sad, that means there are owners out there that don't care...

Re: couple questions befor I dive in

One thing I'd like to throw out there is at 8 months old, many bullies are still very dog friendly, much like little kids, they play with everyone, as they age they tend to grow less social to straight out dog aggressive. I agree whole heartedly with not taking dogs to the dog park, but I figured t...

Re: Hello, might become a pitbull owner!

Oh! Sorry for the DP. The reason why people suggest crating the dog when it's not supervised is for the dog's safety. If the dog is not a chewer it's not a problem. But because you have other dogs in the house, I would suggest separating any new dog (and honestly your own dogs) when you're not home....

Re: Hello, might become a pitbull owner!

It is important for all possible Pit Bull owners and current Pit Bull owners to know that one day your dog could decide it does not like other dogs. So you have to be on board for a crate and rotate lifestyle before picking up any new PB. If that is not a lifestyle you want to live, then I would pas...

Re: Oh for the love of pitties...wait what?

I do not feel I m feeding a stigma by being concerned about escalating behavioral issues if she isnt curbed. I'm sorry, I didn't mean you. I meant being at the dog park with a Pit Bull. How everyone sees Pit Bulls. It's likely that's not happening right now because she's so young. Here is the NILIF...

Re: fish antibiotics

BR have you considered having a vet come out to your house? I mean, not now, this doesn't seem like that big of a deal...but maybe for regular check ups so that Button (and maybe the other dogs) become comfortable with the person. And maybe they'd even be willing to treat Button at home if he's more...

Re: 2yr old won't walk with me any more

I wanted to add that some times you have to change the type of collar your using because it can loose it's effectiveness over time. If you need to, you should be able to reintroduce it later. It sounds like your dog associates walking with you as something bad, possibly painful. I'm sure that was no...

Hello and :welcome:

I'm from Rhode Island too! But I don't live there, I live in Florida. The mods are going to ask you for more of an intro (pretty sure). What got you interested in the breed, what do you like to do, what are your plans for the dog(s)...just general stuff like that.
