Murfins, If I could get enough sponsership money to get a exam, bloodwork, urinanylisis, etc I would definitely get her out of there right away. She needs a geriatric workup badly. Between Jezzy and the expenses from the last 2 dogs we've pulled from shelters I just can't afford this one. I took a h...

Yeah, her abdomen is not horribly bloated anymore and she has gained about 2 pounds. These photo's actually make her look not so skinny but I can feel every bone in her body when I pet her. She could use a bath and nail trim to start.

Elderly girl needs a special person

Moon is about 14 years old. She is currently at the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter located at 301 Stockholm st. Baltimore, MD (where I work) She desperately needs a place to live out her golden years. Moon is wobbly when first getting up and on slippery floors, she is very thin and her tee...

She is still not using the leg at all. Occasionally the toes drag so she is getting a boot to wear. She did get up and play for about 10 minutes with the foster puppy last night but still on 3 legs. It is really cold and very windy here today so that is not going to help much. I'm trying to do some ...

I was on the phone with my vet for over 45 minutes this morning discussing options. We are going to try laser therapy along with Hydromorphone for pain control and see what happens. He mentioned amputation of the right leg since it has been a problem for years but we agreed it was not something we r...

Her atttitude is better today but still not using the leg at all and she is not eating well. I am not happy with my vet right now. I was on the phone at 8:01(they open at 8) this morning asking to speak with the dr and they told me he wasn't available. I explained that the steroids were not working ...

Well, Jezzy had hip and right knee x-rays done this morning. They found nothing except severe arthritis. There is literally zero cartilage in her knee, but we already knew this from previous x-rays. They gave her a steroid injection there this morning and then sent her home on oral steroids and said...

Jezzy has not used her right hind since Thursday. She was using it off and on but mostly on for about a week before that but not at all now. There is swelling all around the knee. We tried increasing the meds by as much as safely possible but it didn't help. She has a vet appointment for tomorrow at...

Try some canned food or boiled chicken. You can also call the place where you adopted him to see what they were feeding him and use that until he is eating well then switch to whatever you want.

Ouch, poor guy! I'm always amazed at how dogs can just keep going on like nothing is wrong when they are injured.

Satin Balls or healthy alternative

Can somebody please post the recipe for Satin Balls or if you have something better for putting weight on a dog. I know several small meals and all that and normally I would not consider something like Satin Balls but one of our fosters is desperately thin despite being very well fed and dewormed. S...

Now that I have her she is definitely a boxer mix and the eye looks like an old injury to me with lots of scarring and a reoccuring ulcer. The shelter did have her on 2 different eyes drops. It doesn't seem to bother her at all but from what I can tell there is absolutely no sight in that eye. She g...

My first thought was glaucoma as well. I have no idea how long she's been at the shelter or how long the eye has been like that. She is only 4-5 months old so I was also thinking possibly somesort of trauma.
If it's glaucoma this early in her life what are the chances of the other eye developing it?
