Glad you're looking at adopting. You're bound to find one that's a fit for you. I would suggest a more mature dog that is settled as opposed to a puppy. A dog would surely prefer having you to love in the mornings, nights and all weekend long rather than being in a shelter.

Keep going to class. Falcon most likely will calm down with each subsequent class. My Otis started class in a big barn with visual barriers & 6 other dogs -- first class was CRAZY loud with 3 of the dogs, including mine, lunging and barking. :frown: His second class was better, about half of the...

NO cropping, no docking. According to the LA-SPCA, I quote: "The American Association of Veterinary Medicine, or AVMA, considers such procedures "not medically indicated nor of benefit to the patient," and urges veterinarians to counsel pet owners on the risks, pain and distress cause...

She is adorable!!! I too know the frustration of daycare discrimination. I've found a place boarding/daycare that takes pits and matches them up with compatible pit playmates for supervised small group play. Took some time though. Keep looking. :)

Thanks for the welcome

Yes, we're 20 mins from Guerneville. Great place for dogs - lots of swimming opportunities :)
I have one JRT now. Our first boy passed at 14 yrs six months ago. They are fierce dogs and would make effective dictators if given the chance. Can't help but adore them in spite of their insanity.

Hello from California

My name is Beth. I live in Sonoma County, CA. I have 3 grown children and 3 grandkids. My husband & I believe in adopting rather than buying. We adopted our first pit mix 20 years ago. She passed from old age 5 years ago. We've rescued some unruly Jack Russells and have grown to love them too. O...
